Chief Myron Demkiw confirms criminals hire young people to shoot up synagogues and political targets, like the US consulate which ultimately led to the death of one of his own officers, Const. Marc Pinizzotto. “Who is paying for this? This is what we are trying to determine.”

Review snippets of the 531-page book – My Life as a Reporter – describe it as an excellent, gritty educational tool. It dispels the glamorous "Hollywood myths" about daily journalism, but shows the relentless, unglamorous legwork required to break stories under tight deadlines.

On a personal level, I just couldn't be more proud of the 17 students in the remarkable first cohort of our Indigenous journalism program. Storytelling really is their superpower. Looking forward to this afternoon's presentation of the video stories they put together this week.
Final day for the video intensive course that wraps the first year of Carleton's Certificate in Journalism in Indigenous Communities. The 17 students who made up the first class of this remarkable program, led by @duncanmccue, have an honouring ceremony tomorrow. Proud moment.

Florida woman pulls out her nub after a police officer accused her of texting with her "right hand" while driving, officer gives her a citation anyway. Officer: "You drove past me, holding the phone with your right hand..." Kathleen Thomas: *Holds up her handless limb* ... Officer: "Hand to God, you didn't have your phone in your right hand?" Thomas while holding up her handless limb: "Hand to God." On Wednesday, the officer requested a dismissal due to a "lack of evidence."

Tearing down the notice of a missing 14 year old autistic girl, simply because she is Jewish, is evil on so many levels that I don’t even know where to start. Vile hatred against Jews is moving from an ugly sentiment to dangerous actions. We must end this now. And make Canada a safe place for Jews and all people.

Last night I flew on an @AirCanada flight #AC779 from Montreal to LAX and I watched a medical emergency happen on the plane. I was so impressed with the level of attentiveness and quick action from the crew that I just want to highlight the level of professionalism and consideration they had for the passenger. The medical situation was resolved on the flight and everyone left ok 🙏 Good for you @AirCanada!
