When I used to follow Lille to watch Jonathan David score goals (hope he does that again soon) I saw Bouaddi debut, and immediately make an impact there. Kid is bound for Premier League for sure.
Nigerian sports journalist Calister asked Peter Drury about Bouaddi’s performance for Morocco against Brazil… listen to what Peter Drury had to say

Nah. It's a mess made by the Maroun family who are lobbying the Trump administration because they own the other bridge and don't want to lose money.

Liberals are worried that Musk might use his “extreme concentration of wealth” to do what exactly? Explore space? Electrify automobile transportation? Advance free speech on digital platforms? What’s the threat here?

There are many jaded folks who scoff at a 48 team #FIFAWorldCup. In a 32 team tournament #Haiti, who played all qualifiers away from home and #Scotland likely don’t get in. Tell these people they don’t belong. I dare you. Results matter, but the joy is in the journey. #HAISCO

Qatar v Switzerland is the World Cup’s only group-stage match where one country’s highest point is lower than the other country’s lowest point. Qatar tops out at just 103m. Switzerland bottoms out at Lake Maggiore, ~193m. Stay tuned for more cutting-edge, geography-based World Cup analysis.

Caught this moment post-match and thought it was very cool for both Ali Ahmed and Michael. Michael, a cornerstone of Vancouver’s soccer scene for years, has covered Ali since his early days w the Whitecaps — now they’re at the World Cup. Ahmed: “For you, I’ll always have time”
The day after Canada's first home World Cup match and first ever point at the tournament. How's everyone feeling about the Bosnia game now? Let us know and we'll chat about it on the next podcast. We'll also bring you some postgame audio, including a chat with Ali Ahmed.

I hate how this is seen as a wasted chance by Richie and not phenomenal defending. The second that leaves Richie’s boot, it’s going in. Kolašinac makes up so much ground to save that off the bar. So unlucky for Laryea but it’s not for lack of quality that wasn’t a goal #CANMNT

Richie Laryea has a HUGE chance but it goes off the crossbar.

Hate that Canadians are arguing between BMO and BC place. Both are super unique for many reasons and offer something different to the other stadiums in this tournament. But they both have something in common thats rare to find in this world cup…..

Seeing how utterly immaculate the grass is at BC Place right now on the broadcast is making me so unhappy knowing it’s gonna be ripped out once the World Cup is over. The Whitecaps deserve better. #FIFAWorldCup #VWFC #SaveTheCaps

A few clear themes in the first half between Canada and Bosnia & Herzegovina (BH) today. The home side is dominating possession with an aggressive 2-4-4 structure. The fullbacks are providing double width and plenty of support through under and overlapping runs. Meanwhile, BH are defending deep in a compact and low 4-4-2 block. With BH defending so deep, Canada are finding it difficult to penetrate during open play. Their man tactic is to overload the box with players and targeting the far post with crosses. Due to the double width, the fullback or winger can get a cross in. Set-pieces seem to be another potentially valuable route for chance creation via freekicks, corners, and long throws. Canada have relatively generated better chances from dead-ball situations rather than open play, as far as I can tell. BH are focusing on defending low and springing on the counter. They don't have too much pace centrally through their strikers. So, the reliance is on hold-up play before accessing the quicker wingers. BH are also relying on set-pieces to generate quality chances. They've got tall and physical players to flood the box. The opening goal came from a corner, too. BH are more threatening from set-pieces due to their superior physical profiles. I don't see these themes changing much for the rest of the game. Canada are proactively attacking and trying to produce chances but BH have been robust defensively so far. A tough and competitive game.

All 3 arrived in Canada as kids, aged 7-4-10 respectively, came up through local systems in Montreal, Edmonton and Toronto. Jonathan David was born in Brooklyn and was in Haiti till age 6, then played his youth soccer in Ottawa where he grew up. A cool aspect of the current team
