Non-Greeks (ξένοι) might not understand, but learning the Homeric epics is mandatory in 🇬🇷 elementary schools. It doesn’t seem like a big deal then. But unconsciously, the myth is carved into the child’s soul. That’s why as adults we consider these epics as sacred as the Bible.

Last week, the United States refused to participate in the UN’s review of the Global Compact on Migration. The United States objects to the Global Compact on Migration and UN efforts to facilitate replacement migration to the United States and our Western allies.

For those who may not know or are curious Why is the program called “Artemis”? 🏹✨ • In Greek mythology, Artemis (known as Diana to the Romans) is the goddess of the Moon, the hunt, the wild, and untamed nature She is the twin sister of Apollo, the god of the Sun • The Apollo program of the 1960s–70, the one that landed on the Moon, was named after Apollo himself. Choosing Artemis as its successor is a poetic and symbolic gesture: the twin sister of Apollo now leads humanity back to the Moon, marking a new era of exploration and discovery • NASA announced the name in 2019 precisely for this mythological resonance: Artemis embodies humanity’s return to the Moon in the 21st century, a new chapter driven by ambition, unity, and the enduring pull of the unknown 💫

@Ayaan I am a Spanish teacher with experience in care centres and youth prisons (they are called that here). Here's my take on Noelia, from a Spanish perspective. I would appreciate if you could take the time to read it, since it is us who are silenced. torivillarcom.wordpress.com/…

The brave Eve Barlow describes here the moral and spiritual hollowness of the European elite that parades around as humane and compassionate. If you did not know of the plight of Noelia Castillo Ramos, now you know. “This week, they lauded death for a survivor. Noelia no longer survives. She was encouraged to surrender. At every turn, the society who failed her was protected, including her rapists. She was murdered by the state. It was an honor killing, let’s face it. Spain decided she should die, claiming it was her wish. She was in no position to make that decision. She was 25-years-old. She had never known life outside the cage of the trauma she suffered since childhood. Her agency was stripped from her years before she was euthanized. This is no victory. This is evil. Spain sets a fatal precedent for its women and girls, and their future. The details of the case read like a dispatch from a society that lost the plot. Gang-raped while under state guardianship as a vulnerable girl, she jumped from a window in a suicide attempt that left her paraplegic. Years later, after her father fought the courts all the way to the European Court of Human Rights, the state granted her a lethal injection. She did her makeup, said her goodbyes, and died alone on March 26 in a Catalan hospital. The official line: unbearable suffering from an incurable condition. The unspoken one: a system that neglected her, then offered death as the dignified solution. This isn’t some isolated tragedy of personal despair. Noelia was housed in facilities overloaded with unaccompanied foreign minors – “menas” – under Pedro Sánchez’s permissive migration policies. Spain has welcomed irregular arrivals with open arms and closed borders for deportation. Bilateral deals make removal a nightmare. Vulnerable Spanish girls paid the price in state care. The rapists? Never publicly named or aggressively pursued in ways that satisfied basic justice. Why? Who were they? What nationality? What ethnicity? Doesn’t it matter? Does the machinery of progressive compassion stall if the perpetrators belong to the demographic the state imported and shielded? “ @Eve_Barlow open.substack.com/pub/evebar…

Noelia’s euthanasia for depression, at just 25 years old, took place in her room at Sant Camil Hospital at 6 p.m. in Barcelona. Her final wishes were to be elegantly dressed with light makeup. She also requested to be alone when she died. Doctors injected a toxin into her veins and she stopped breathing. A rape victim who was failed by her own country. Rest in peace angel. 🙏
