Encouraging discussions on kidney health at #WHA79, one year after the landmark @WHO resolution. The focus now is implementation: strengthening prevention, early detection, financing, and access to care to advance #UHC and reduce inequities worldwide. Because #KidneyHealthMatters
One year after the adoption of the first-ever @WHO resolution on kidney health, ISN joined key discussions at #WHA79 to help move from global commitment to practical implementation. Two side events brought together policymakers, clinicians, and global health partners to explore how kidney health can be better integrated into universal health coverage (UHC), NCD strategies, and primary care systems. Discussions highlighted the importance of prevention, early detection, coordinated care models, and resilient health systems in improving outcomes for people living with kidney disease. As ISN President @cellotonelli noted: “The focus is now on implementation, moving from the ‘why’ to the ‘how.’” These conversations build momentum toward stronger, more equitable kidney care worldwide and support progress ahead of the 2027 UN High-Level Meeting on UHC. #KidneyHealthMatters #GlobalHealth #NCDs #UHC #WHA79
