Illinois politicians call themselves pro market while handing out billions in corporate welfare, TIFs, tax breaks, and special favors to politically connected companies.
I want to talk about my simple, very simple position: stop subsidizing corporations and start liberating people.
A truly free market doesn’t pick winners and losers. It doesn’t force future teachers, nurses, welders, electricians, mechanics, and entrepreneurs into debt while billionaire developers collect government handouts.
If Illinois can afford corporate welfare, it can afford to invest in its own citizens.
Student debt is a liberty issue. Every loan payment delays homeownership, entrepreneurship, family formation, and economic independence.
This isn’t socialism btw lol, i’m just against crony capitalism.
I’m against new taxes and new debt, and for sure bigger bureaucracy.
They need to end corporate welfare, and cut the university bloat, and finally Invest in the people of Illinois, not just politically connected corporations.
And fuck man, maybe i’m crazy but i think that’s what economic freedom actually looks like.
