Time running out on no charge @theGRDC national cereal stubble testing for Fusarium crown rot levels. Staff still keen with 2 week turnaround from when we get samples. Get them off before end of month to not miss out. Over 600 paddocks tested nationally so far.

Paddock Perspective | Tom Curry - Bethungra, NSW🌾
Meet Tom Curry, who farms in the triangle between Cootamundra, Junee and Temora in southern New South Wales. His mixed farming operation spans around 3,700 acres, combining cropping and livestock.
Despite a drier-than-usual autumn, Tom’s wheat, barley and cereals are holding strong, and he’s hopeful for a good finish if a little rain arrives soon.
Right now, Tom is focused on making the most of his available resources and making smart decisions to keep his operations productive and sustainable.

GRDC is inviting applications under a new Grain Adopt Regional Development & Extension (D&E) Open Call, an initiative of the National Grower Network (NGN).
This program supports short-term, grower-prioritised D&E investments that align with GRDC’s RD&E Strategy. Examples of eligible activities:
➡️ Extension events, workshops & grower forums
➡️ Validation or demonstration sites & on-farm trials
➡️ Regional initiatives that strengthen capability & improve the translation of research into practice.

This week we finished the 2025 GRDC Southern NSW Farming Systems project field walks looking at eight years of small plot research and how it upscales into real world scenarios – #diversefarms.
Topics included diverse rotations, nitrogen legacy, lime incorporation, rainfall into profit, pulse logistics and weed & disease control.
Thanks to everyone involved including host farmers, guest speakers, advisors, the project team and all those who attended.
