tldr: the state evolved as a machine for generating ever larger and more murderous armies of cannon fodder to hurl at the opposition
Doesn’t seem like 30 years ago but on 19th March 1991 a new 17-year adventure in my life began with the formation of IONA Technologies: journalist/author John Sterne has put together an anniversary summary in his wonderful Irish TechArchives history site techarchives.irish/anniversa…
In the early 90s, there was a lot of hype about "component-based software" -- editing different parts of a document with different mini-editors.
Why didn't it catch on? 7 theories I've come across:
It took me 4 days from first code commit to having a working tus.io implementation used in a project (@TerminusDB). @SwiProlog_ is pretty great for productivity and #TUS documentation is very straightforward.

Blockchain Knowledge Graph is not tech buzzword salad. Capabilities could be used for legitimate solutions in decentralized information networks. Cardano's @IOHK_Charles was just talking about this yesterday youtube.com/watch?v=JilEb42q…
Cardano community, meet TerminusDB
Lot of talk about the advantages of #distributed and #decentralized systems following the actions of twitter, facebook, google, microsoft, AWS, Apple and others.
TerminusDB is a distributed revision control database. Read about how we achieve this:

RDF remains the most intuitive model for capturing knowledge in many big tech companies. The main appealing aspect is the simplicity of representation: Subject, Predicate, Object. It is also a versatile model when creating facts from unstructured data.
Blog for the #RDF and Data Modelling folk -
'Boxes and Stars - Modelling Relationships in RDF Graphs'

The four major new features are:
1. Visual schema/data model building tool
2. Surfable, clickable document editor
3. Easy CSV versioned management
4. Command line interface
(thanks to @sreyachats for the fantastic graphics)
Great article on the new infrastructure software stack for ML/AI. 🙏 for @chetanp for highlighting.
Interesting that *zero* companies in this article are public.
Funny to realize I have not thought about the LAMP stack in years. Change is constant.

Have you heard of #TerminusDB: an open-source full-featured in-memory graph database management system that stores data like git?
Tune into our #webinar this Friday with @cheukting_ho to learn about the work being done with TerminusDB.
