Happy to share our newest preprint from @group_maynard where we demonstrate the ability to tune dearomatization energies to control amine release rates! Another example of the synergy that computations and experimentation can provide in your research🖥️🧪 chemrxiv.org/engage/chemrxiv…

This poem is so good it jolts me every time to be honest. People love to post that one line from it whenever June hits, which I get, but why deprive anyone of the whole thing??

everyone under the age of 35 that doesn't simply turn on cnn or fox news and believes their framing knows that these protests have largely been peaceful and yet they got a larger police response than january 6. wasting more tax $$ beating students for the welfare state of israel
Biden is now giving a completely one-sided, dishonest speech about these campus protests. “Dissent must never lead to disorder.”

Ask yourself why reporters would need to be arrested for reporting on what's happening at UCLA? What dont they want the public to know? Asking as a UCLA alum class of 1996

I was a third-year college student before this genocide started, but I'll never be able to finish my studies because Israeli occupation forces bombed my university and every other university in Gaza. Thanks to the brave college students who are protesting and advocating for us, we see you and hear you. Don't stop.

Tried to read that piece in The Cut but decided this is not how Mary Oliver would want me to spend my one wild precious life.

It’s crazy to me people still don’t do grocery delivery in 2024. It’s like $5. Minimum wage is a higher dollar per hour.

This was a really fun collaboration with @felixfu96 where we learned a lot about synthesis and functionalization of anthraquinones. It was super exciting to see all the physical organic chemistry I've taught over the last few years come to fruition!

There is an entire field of scholarship dedicated to drawing comparisons between genocides. The entire point of genocide education is to draw parallels between genocides so that we do not repeat the mistakes of the past. Utterly absurd to pretend that is antisemitic.
Weaponizing the Holocaust is always wrong and especially when it comes from a head of state. That Brazilian President Lula did so to promote a false, antisemitic claim is outrageous and should be condemned.

What is the point of learning from the lessons of the Holocaust if we are told that no other event since not only doesn't have any parallels with it, but that it's actively evil to consider any such parallels?
