*"I cannot embrace Pinarayi Vijayan; I am in a political fight with him." — Rahul Gandhi’s words clear all the gossip.* National alliances will never mean a compromise on our core battle in Kerala. We will continue to fiercely fight the LDF’s anti-people policies on the ground. I stand completely with it.

The days of the world waking up to a small ball are back! ⚽️🌎 As the World Cup kicks off at the Azteca Stadium, Kerala is already painted in the colors of Messi, CR7, and Neymar. Argentina enters as defending champions. While we will deeply miss the big-match savior Di María, the squad is rock solid with Álvarez, De Paul, and Dibu Martínez ready to back Messi. 👑🇦🇷 Argentina doesn't just play; they write poetry on the pitch with brotherhood and heart. In a world fighting addiction, sports culture is our ultimate shield. Life is the high, football is the high. Let the coming days belong to this beautiful intoxication! 🩵🔥 #WorldCup #Argentina #Messi #FootballFever

Today, I had the privilege of releasing “Adhikaarathinte Vazhi Aneethiyudeyum” (The Path of Power and Injustice), a book authored by Police Advisor Shri A. Hemachandran IPS. The book was released by presenting its first copy to Bindu, a native of Nedumangad, who fought relentlessly and secured justice after being falsely accused of theft while working as a domestic worker. After all, ensuring justice for ordinary citizens is the ultimate purpose of any system. When Shri Hemachandran assumed office as Police Advisor, he made it clear that he did not require a salary, special privileges, or office facilities. It is this commitment to public service that truly sets him apart. No institution can move forward by concealing uncomfortable truths. Our goal is to make the Kerala Police a model force through continuous reforms and modernization. Published by DC Books, this work offers a candid and insightful look into the realities of power and its misuse. It is a book that everyone should read. My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the author and the book. 📚✨

When I was in school, I was the goalkeeper on the football field. Perhaps that is where I developed the habit of anticipating every move, staying alert, and understanding opponents before facing them. From Maradona to Messi, I have always had a special fondness for Argentina. I am hopeful that Argentina will retain the World Cup title next time and create a true “Toofan” on the global stage. Today, I had the privilege of kicking off the “1 Million Toofan Goals” initiative at Global Sports City, Peroorkada. The programme is being jointly organised by the Department of General Education and the Home Department in support of “Operation Toofan – The Narco Hunt,” Kerala Police’s campaign against drug abuse. It was a pleasure to share some light-hearted football fan banter with Minister N. Shamsudheen, an ardent Brazil supporter who presided over the event, and to join distinguished personalities including Olympian P.R. Sreejesh. Through this initiative, students from 17,000 schools across Kerala will score 1 million “Toofan Goals” against the menace of drugs. Let there be no doubt: whoever pushes our children towards narcotics—whether film stars, businesspersons, or anyone else—will face an uncompromising fight. On June 26, International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, every student should take an anti-drug pledge. Remember: Life itself is the true addiction worth having—let football be the passion that inspires us! ⚽🌪️🇮🇳

Kudos to the police for apprehending a gangster after firing warning shots into the air. The era of a “goonda paradise” that has persisted here for the past ten years will no longer be tolerated. This action also serves as a clear warning that the lawlessness and criminal environment that prevailed over the last decade will not be allowed to continue. #KeralaPolice #LawAndOrder

Tributes to Padma Shri Bharathiraja! With the passing of legendary filmmaker Bharathiraja, who brought cinema out of studio confines and into the beauty of villages and the lives of ordinary people, a golden chapter in Indian cinema comes to a close. His contribution to Indian cinema was transformative. By casting dark-skinned actors in lead roles and portraying the realities of common people with authenticity, he redefined cinematic aesthetics and pioneered a new artistic vision. He was a revolutionary talent who elevated ordinary lives and everyday experiences into compelling stories of heroism and humanity. Padma Shri Bharathiraja has left an indelible mark on Indian cinema, one that stands at a height few can ever hope to reach. Heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and countless admirers mourning his loss. May his legacy continue to inspire generations of filmmakers and cinema lovers. #Bharathiraja #RIPBharathiraja #IndianCinema

Making people laugh, giving them moments of genuine joy and laughter, is perhaps the greatest gift an artist can offer. Beloved Salim Kumar leaves us having fulfilled that noble mission through his life and work. Beyond the frame of a comedian, he was a remarkably gifted actor who proved his extraordinary talent time and again. His National Award-winning performance in Adaminte Makan Abu remains a matter of immense pride for Malayalam cinema. Alongside his artistic excellence, I fondly remember the courage with which Salim Kumar expressed his views on social issues and the resilience with which he faced every challenge in life with a smile. He was a dear friend to me. The passing of Salim Kumar creates a profound void in Kerala’s cultural landscape. I share in the grief of his family, friends, and the millions of admirers who cherished him. Tributes. — Ramesh Chennithala

Operation Toofan – The Narco Hunt has seized narcotics worth ₹60 lakh within just 72 hours. Kerala Police arrested foreign nationals Samuel Clifson Okfor from Delhi and Elsina Santan Susan from Bengaluru, both alleged links in an international drug trafficking network. I congratulate the police force that has taken up the responsibility of uprooting the drug menace from its roots. The support extended to this people’s movement by members of the film and cultural sectors is equally valuable. In recent days, many prominent personalities from the arts community have publicly backed this mission. While welcoming their support, I also express the Home Department’s gratitude. Kerala Police will work closely in this operation with the anti-drug initiative led by Shri Mammootty, who has consistently been at the forefront of efforts against substance abuse. I also commend Shri Unni Mukundan for his social intervention in drawing attention to issues related to drug use among migrant workers. Special squads led by IG Putta Vimaladitya and the Toofan Intelligence team are actively tracking the sources of narcotics. They will maintain special surveillance around educational institutions as well. Confidential information shared by the public can significantly strengthen this mission. Coconut is truly the “Kalpavriksha” of Kerala—from the coconut oil that defines our culinary traditions to the leaves that once roofed our homes. It is a tree that serves every aspect of life, from its roots to its fronds. As someone born and raised in Alappuzha, the capital of the coir industry, this coconut culture is deeply woven into my memories and experiences. The coir industry was built on the collective strength of workers who once gathered and laboured together in our villages. This hard work, centered around the coconut tree, transformed Alappuzha into an industrial hub and provided immense strength to the region’s labour movements. The coir sector continues to hold limitless possibilities. At a time when the world is increasingly turning towards eco-friendly products, every product derived from the coconut tree offers new avenues for livelihood and economic security. On this World Environment Day, let us adopt a new habit: whenever we plant a tree, let us plant a coconut tree as well. Let us make full use of every resource it provides—its leaves, trunk, fruit, roots, and more—and integrate them into our industries and daily lives. Let us also remember that the very name Kerala is believed to have originated from Kera (coconut). With a long-term vision for reviving our coconut-based culture and industries, the Coir Department will remain at the forefront of this mission. World Environment Day greetings to everyone. B.R.P. Bhaskar was a people’s thinker who transformed journalism from a mere profession into a powerful instrument for giving voice to the voiceless. It was a deeply meaningful experience to revisit and celebrate his inspiring legacy. At a function held in Thiruvananthapuram, I released Bodhigram’s book Manninte Manamulla Mattoral and presented awards to outstanding personalities in the media and social sectors. The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. No matter how far technology advances, humanity and integrity remain the lifeblood of good journalism. B.R.P.’s life continues to serve as a guiding light in carrying forward the noble mission of standing with and speaking for ordinary people. Tributes to the cherished memory of B.R.P. Bhaskar. 🙏🏻

M.P. Veerendra Kumar was a towering mass leader who held humanism and socialist values close to his heart. I inaugurated the memorial meeting organized by the State Committee of the Rashtriya Janata Dal at Ayyankali Hall, Thiruvananthapuram, commemorating his cherished memories. Through works such as Haimavathabhoovil, he taught us to love both nature and humanity alike. He was an eminent writer, an inspiring speaker, and a leader who always maintained clear and principled positions on contemporary political issues. His presence was a great source of strength for the UDF. Tributes to the loving memory of that remarkable human being. 🙏🏻
