I was bitten by this ant earlier today in a very sensitive area, and the pain has been surprisingly intense ever since.
I've already tried a few common remedies, but the discomfort is still there. I've attached a picture of the ant because I don't know exactly what species it is.
Could you help identify it and possibly explain why the bite is this painful? Also, what would be the best treatment or first aid for something like this?
I'd really appreciate your insight.
