The confusion many Marxists have surrounding the petty bourgeoise is that there are two clearly distinct social-strata that are both called PB with clearly distinct corresponding world-outlooks.

Only thing I'll add to the current discourse is that 1) it IS a problem that the workers and socialist movements are largely divorced, but individuals dropping out of college won't fix that 2) I have a degree, & the only jobs I've been able to get are in parcel delivery/warehouse

it is very disturbing to me to see this circulating. it is 100% false.
1. this march took place during the winter of 2014-2015, after Mike Brown was murdered by police in Ferguson, MO. the night marches that took place in oakland, berkeley & san francisco at this time were NOT peaceful.
2. the ppl who approached the cops pictured here did so b/c it was obvious they were cops lurking in a march that was generally OK with people looting & smashing windows. the cops were not involved in those activities; they were lurking & people noticed cops lurking & alerted others to their presence & tried to oust them from the march & had guns pulled on them.
3. stop speculating about "agent provocateurs" online & off. militancy has always been a part of social movements against the police (& border enforcement is police). if you dont like that, stay the fuck out of the streets, especially when night falls.
4. whoever runs the account that put this out should not be trusted / do not trust this account.
