People who don't understand zipper merging should have all their plumbing replaced with plastic straws. I've never understood why "We all line up and go really slow and leave an empty lane open for miles" is Decent Citizen™ RW coded and "Drive normally in as many lanes as are available" is LW "redditbrain" coded. Perhaps it satisfies some unsated desire for duty and sacrifice. I also think people are thrown off by the term "zipper merge" like it is some kind of carefully orchestrated ballet that requires masterful execution and could only work in an ideal world. It's not. It's just normal driving. What is a two-, three-, or four-lane highway but a "zipper merge" that either hasn't zippered yet, or is always zippering and unzippering? In fact, normal highway driving is infinitely more complicated than a zipper merge. Yet I have to get in line with the rest of the lemmings because if I try to drive normally and rationally, some Road Justice Defender will put the life of my family in danger to keep the empty lane pure and undefiled.
You’re standing in a long line at the deli. A guy walks in behind you, shifts to your left to walk next to the line and slides in front of the guy several people ahead of you. An urban planner reminds you that really is the most efficient way of managing a line.

Very rarely will you need to buy your husband a new wallet, but when that day comes, it is somehow a major household decision and you cannot screw it up. Men will carry the same wallet for 20 years with the corners falling apart and still say it’s fine. So this is not the moment for creativity. Slim, durable, leather if he’s a leather guy, metal if he already likes that kind of thing. Do not surprise a man with a weird wallet.

I asked ChatGPT to define the primary personality disorder for the Marvel Superheros… 🦸‍♂️ Marvel Superheroes & Their “Personality Quirks” – A Fun Pop-Psych Breakdown! 🦸‍♀️ Ever wonder what mental health traits hide behind those capes and masks? Here’s a light-hearted (not clinical!) look at primary personality patterns for some iconic Marvel heroes. Remember, these are exaggerated by trauma, powers, and comics drama — not real diagnoses. Trauma/PTSD is the real MVP across the board. Avengers & Friends: • Iron Man (Tony Stark): Classic narcissistic traits — grandiosity, need for admiration, and that genius playboy swagger. But he grows through anxiety and self-reflection. • Captain America (Steve Rogers): Rigid idealism and perfectionism (OCPD vibes), but mostly just the ultimate boy scout with strong moral code. • Thor: Grief and depression hit hard post-losses. From party god to self-medicating king. • Hulk (Bruce Banner): Dissociative Identity Disorder explosive rage. Banner vs. Hulk is the ultimate inner battle. • Spider-Man (Peter Parker): Heavy anxiety, survivor’s guilt, and emotional swings from all the responsibility. • Wolverine (Logan): Chronic PTSD with loner tendencies and berserker outbursts. • Black Widow (Natasha): Complex PTSD and trust issues from her spy past — she builds her own family. • Doctor Strange: Pre-accident narcissism, post-accident obsessive control issues. • Daredevil (Matt Murdock): Recurrent depression and Catholic guilt-fueled self-punishment. • Moon Knight: Straight-up Dissociative Identity Disorder with multiple alters. • Deadpool: Chaotic PTSD, possible borderline traits, and meta-humor as coping. Guardians of the Galaxy Crew – The Ultimate Dysfunctional Found Family: • Star-Lord (Peter Quill): Narcissistic charm mixed with abandonment issues and impulsivity. Uses humor to hide vulnerability. • Rocket Raccoon: Deep complex PTSD, emotional dysregulation, defensiveness, and self-loathing from horrific experiments. Vol. 3 hits different. • Groot: The healthy one! Loyal, empathetic, and selfless — “I am Groot” says it all. • Gamora: PTSD and guarded avoidant style from Thanos’ abusive “training.” • Drax: Literal-minded focus (autistic-like traits to some), driven by grief and vengeance. • Nebula: Borderline/antisocial vibes from sibling rivalry and constant upgrades/torture — learning connection slowly. • Mantis: Socially naive from isolation, but brings pure empathy. These misfits show how trauma shapes us, but found family and growth can heal (or at least make it fun). Superheroes aren’t perfect — they’re messy, just like us. Which character’s psyche resonates with you most? Tony’s ego? Rocket’s sass and pain? Drop your thoughts below! 👇 #Marvel #MCU #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy #MentalHealthAwareness #SuperheroPsyche (All in good fun — real mental health support is important!) 🚀

The smartest age in life may be 55 to 60 – not in your 20s. Raw cognitive abilities, such as processing speed and memory, often peak early in life. Athletes typically hit their prime before 30, mathematicians make major breakthroughs by their mid-30s, and chess champions rarely stay dominant past 40. However, a new research reveals that overall psychological functioning—including personality traits, judgment, and emotional intelligence—peaks much later, between ages 55 and 60. A study analyzing 16 key traits across the lifespan found that conscientiousness peaks around 65, emotional stability reaches its height near 75, moral reasoning deepens in older age, and the ability to avoid cognitive biases may improve into the 70s or 80s. When combined into a single index, these traits suggest the mind is most balanced in the late 50s, blending experience, emotional steadiness, and sound judgment. This may explain why many top leaders and thinkers achieve their greatest impact in midlife. ["Worried about turning 60? Science says that’s when many of us actually peak." Petulance is not power, it is a sign of helplessness. People may temporarily be cowed by your tantrums, but in the end they lose respect for you. They also realize they can easily undermine a person with so little self-control.

Amazon is holding a mandatory meeting about AI breaking its systems. The official framing is "part of normal business." The briefing note describes a trend of incidents with "high blast radius" caused by "Gen-AI assisted changes" for which "best practices and safeguards are not yet fully established." Translation to human language: we gave AI to engineers and things keep breaking? The response for now? Junior and mid-level engineers can no longer push AI-assisted code without a senior signing off. AWS spent 13 hours recovering after its own AI coding tool, asked to make some changes, decided instead to delete and recreate the environment (the software equivalent of fixing a leaky tap by knocking down the wall). Amazon called that an "extremely limited event" (the affected tool served customers in mainland China).

Bill Maher fires back at Billie Eilish and leftist “kids” who “don’t know what the f*ck” America is about. “I want to… say something about Western civilization. Kids, you don’t know what the f*ck it is.” “They think Western means white—and white means bad. First of all, everything bad that white people did, people of color did it, too. The Japanese before World War II and during World War II. And Genghis Khan, and I could go on and on.” “The left is very down on America, very down on the West. And it’s ironic because the West has also given us everything that makes your life good here. Don’t ask Billie Eilish or Chappell Roan about what the Western values are, because they’ll just say it’s about oppression.” “But it’s not about oppression. It’s about rule of law. It’s about respect for minorities. It’s about democracy. It’s about scientific inquiry. These are all good things that came from the Western world. I wish that schools would teach that again.”

For anyone putting loyalty to a person above loyalty to the Constitution, Justice Gorsuch’s remarks should be required reading. His words are a reminder that our highest duty is to the rule of law and the founding principles that define America.
