i honestly don't remember a single bad update. though i skipped 12 and went to 12L, i thinks 12 was the only exception

My S21 got the Lineage treatment.😃 And ata-kaner totally cooked! (unofficial build) It's really smooth, only lost 3% while testing for half an hour and isn't bloated at all so it weighs only 1.2 GB.

gotta try lineage os 21 on my old tablet and tbh i have a big theory on why these old phones struggle with modern android a lot
under the hood every android release, especially 12, was significantly more efficient under the hood
but since than there were a lot of animations...

Apparently, with iOS 27, holding down the power button during boot will enter in a new recovery mode page.
And while SCAMsung hides Download Mode with OneUI 8.5 (quote below) and doesn't have a proper reflash tool for customers, Apple made it easier and doesn't require a PC.

EVERYONE if you have any old device, please go check if it has lineage os support, flash the rom without gapps
please just try it, give it a chance. Because very soon android will loose many foss apps, this is one of the ways you can still install em.
Just do it. Try it.

and if you like the os, just flash it on your new phone if you can to still get the freedom you expect from android. You choose what happens on your device.

one of the biggest improvements in speed you notice on modern android is the speed apps update now.
It used to take ages on older versions, especially android 9 when it launched. now you press update, 5 apps instead of 1 download and the update itself only takes a second

all of this puts a lot of pressure on the ancient exynos 9810 and the 4gb ram, but it's still just way faster than ever before
even better is the experience on fdroid, you press update all and it takes like 10-20 seconds
