This isn't the flex
@NewJerseyOAG thinks it is.
I'm nauseated by how freely propaganda & revisionist history is shoveled out of the
@GovSherrillNJ administration.
NJ taxpayers were rocked by a $175M loss because a bunch of swooning progressives spent years literally chasing windmills & calling it "smart energy policy." NJ offshore wind COLLAPSED. Developers walked away and the state claimed it was owed $300M & settled for a paltry $125M.
And "clean?" Gimme a break. These turbines require steel, concrete, copper, fiberglass, rare earth minerals, mining, manufacturing, diesel-powered ships, heavy equipment, transportation, installation, maintenance, & backup generation. They're mined with fossil fuels, manufactured with fossil fuels, transported with fossil fuels, installed with fossil fuels, maintained with fossil fuels, & backed up by conventional energy sources when they (unsurprisingly) can't produce enough electricity. Calling that "clean" requires some serious selective comprehension.
To add insult to injury, WIND ENERGY IS INTERMITTENT BY DEFINITION. It is a supplemental energy source, not a reliable baseload source. When the wind isn't blowing, something else has to do the heavy lifting. Offshore wind will continue to face opposition & a mammoth legal uphill battle in NJ, and rightfully so.
If I say this enough times, maybe it'll sink in. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE DON'T LIKE US. It's why the words "politician" & "political appointee" provoke such a visceral reaction: people are sick of being told to ignore reality & give these people and their crappy, expensive, myopic ideas a standing ovation.
Sometimes the truth is ugly. You can slap a coat of paint on the progressive fairy tale, but the foundation's still crumbling.

Our victory in court stands: New Jersey can proceed with the development of wind energy.
This is a win for everyone who wants cleaner energy at lower cost.
