#OnThisDay in 2006, Liverpool South Parkway opened. The new station replaced the old Garston and Allerton stations, offering easy interchange between @Merseyrail and main line services, and bus links to the aIrport. On opening day, 507011 calls with the 1156 to Hunts Cross.

We were pleased to welcome students from @ReptonSchool recently as part of a visit to @AlstomUK's Litchurch Lane works in Derby. They had a tour of 507001, allowing them to compare its historic engineering approach with the modern trains elsewhere on site. Hope you enjoyed it!
