RIP Loretta. You will be missed!
30 May 2025
Loretta was a supremely talented actor. She deserved all her 10 EMMY nominations and her 2 wins. But more than acting her part, she created it. She worked hard In showing the writing staff how they could turn the character from a one joke sexist stereotype into a real person -- with real feelings and ambitions. We celebrated the day the script came out listing her character not as Hot Lips, but as Margaret. Loretta made the most of her time here.

We need supportive housing now! It makes the most sense - for the individual, for the community, and economically! What’s the delay?
"I had 99 problems and who would have thought getting access to supportive housing would solve 90 of them". If You want to treat addiction, mental health challenges, and chronic health conditions people need access to more supportive housing, not less! It's hard to recover from any health condition without housing. Link 🔗 globalnews.ca/video/11034063…

Imagine that these leaders all demanded a response of supportive housing! Our vulnerable friends on the street could have safety, dignity, and a much better life in a HOME! Instead, these “leaders” chose to ask about crushing the most vulnerable once again.

Totally disgraceful.
12 Ontario Mayors are formally requesting that @fordnation invoke the notwithstanding clause to suspend encampment residents' Charter-protected rights so that they can be removed from encampments. The letter cites the Grants Pass Supreme Court decision in the U.S., which allows local governments to criminalize unhoused people in lieu of building housing and shelter, or offering services. It's Draconian and represents an abdication of government responsibility for the welfare of homeless people. This letter comes a day after @fordnation told @ONBigCityMayors to "have the backbone" to formally ask him to use the notwithstanding clause. Ford has invoked the clause three times, twice successfully to both force back-to-work legislation and to limit criticism of his government through third-party advertising. With the Mayors of Barrie, Brampton, Brantford, Cambridge, Chatham-Kent, Clarington, Oakville, Oshawa, Pickering, St. Catherines, Sudbury, and Windsor taking responsibility for the ask, Ford could very well table legislation that invokes the notwithstanding clause to evict encampments, without municipalities needing to offer resources like shelter. Even if you don't care about homeless people, you should be greatly alarmed that entire demographic groups are being targeted to have their Charter rights removed. Who's next?

Imagine how amazing the world would be if we used Matthew 25 as the starting point for all theology! Now let’s go live it!
Matthew 25 tells us that when Jesus returns and judges between the righteous and unrighteous, he doesn't judge them based on their theology, their patriotism, or their individual definitions of morality. Jesus judges them based on their compassion towards vulnerable people.

Residential schools were a prison. I was alienated - I could not speak to my siblings in my language. When I went back home, people made fun of the fact I could not speak Inuinnaqtun. People called me a white woman.

Supportive Housing is the best answer for people deprived of housing!

2000 verses about taking care of the poor. Can’t be clearer than that! And yet…
conservative christians on things jesus didn’t say a word about: “THE BIBLE IS CLEAR” conservative christians on things jesus said many words about: “we need context 👉🏼👈🏼”

Celebrating the birthday of this amazing man. Jim has inspired me to love extraordinarily, be silly, burst into song, and welcome all! A truly great man!

Doug is just pandering without understanding. I know many people deprived of housing. Most work extremely hard just to get by. If a person cannot get housing, the next steps, including a job, are almost always impossible.

Here's the video of the Premier telling healthy people in encampments and who are homeless to 'get off their A-S-S and start working' #onpoli
