like much in life, books are neutral vessels. a book is neither "good" nor "bad" intrinsically; each book is distinctive. it is misleading to assume that any book is superior to any movie or TV program or video because it is a book. rather, there are worthwhile books & there are books one would not wish to promulgate, like Hitler's "Mein Kampf" or any similar racist/fascist work. we tend to think of books as a category that is "good"--but that is really not the case.
A huge factor in the collapse of our collective mental health is the decline in reading for pleasure. Reading lessens loneliness, builds community, sharpens the intellect. It brings joy. You will be shocked at how much better you feel if you begin to read regularly.
