Getting a bit tired of what’s going on with this platform - I’ll step away for a while. If anyone needs to contact me, you can easily find me at claudio-ortolina.org.

For anyone trying to make sense of Musk having Twitter engineers print out their code and show it to Tesla engineers… my view is we don’t need to look far to see what is happening. Elon doesn’t like to pay severance. From my coverage in Tesla’s secret layoffs in @Pragmatic_Eng:

I was recently on a flight to Charlotte, and when the flight landed two women, one Black one white, got into an argument after bumping into one another in the aisle. When they got off the plane, the white woman turned to the Black woman, red with anger, and called her the n-word.

One of the most sensible takes on ‘cancel culture’ I’ve seen. Sensible, honest, smart. I’m posting the video directly as Times Radio tweeted it with a clickbait and somewhat misleading headline that unintentionally confirmed his point. More of this please.

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been using Apple Music instead of Spotify (in the process of reducing the number of subscriptions I have) and it‘s going really well. I’m not a fan of the stock music app, so I’m using @marvis_music instead.

I feel like there’s a lot of bigger company things you don’t really appreciate until you see it done really effectively!

Give this a RT if you think scrapping taxes on the super rich and bankers bonuses whilst cutting benefits for the poorest is NOT the type of Britain you want to live in.

OH MY F***ING GOD! @SophyRidgeSky: But these tax cuts will mainly benefit millionaires. Mark Littlewood: "You're not going to like this package if you care more about the poor." @MarkJLittlewood = director of the pro-Brexit IEA think-tank. (funding?)

Having an effective HR team is a massive multiplier management-wise - something that I kinda knew but that I can now see and feel on an everyday basis.

If you run iPadOS 16 on M1 WITHOUT Stage Manager, is the external monitor experience the same as before? i.e. screen cropped, mirror by default unless the app supports multiple screens?

This thread is a devastating takedown of the New York Times' editorial about the Ukraine war.
Remember this now infamous NYTimes editorial? That Ukraine must give up and that a Ukrainian victory is not realistic. This is what happens if you write based on stereotypes, not evidence.

At work we post a summary of our day on Slack so that everyone gets some context on what we did. I wrote a small Deno script to automate generating one from a Notion board github.com/voluntadpear/oft-…

This is one of those fascinating times when you see the difference between people who think of monarchs and colonialism are part of some fantasy world, like Disney stories, and those who know the evil of it and whose parents can talk vividly about the cruelty and lasting impact.
