'I blew the whistle on Harvey case at CHI' ✍️ Maeve Sheehan A former manager at Children's Health Ireland (#CHI) has revealed she is the whistleblower who flagged concerns around Harvey Morrison Sherratt's care. Anita Little, a former spinal services business manager, who settled a legal employment dispute with CHI last week, told the Sunday Independent: "Yes, I can confirm I am the whistleblower." She said she made a protected disclosure to the Health Minister after it came to her attention that Harvey who suffered from complex scoliosis and spina bifida, had been inexplicably removed from the waiting list. He died, aged nine. last July. "I felt the Minister for Health had the power to find out what happened with Harvey" she said. "I was also aware that his parents did not know he had been removed from the waiting list which is just absolutely outrageous." Standing by the allegations she made in a protected disclosure, which was sent to the minister last August 31, Ms Little said she is willing to testify at the statutory inquiry or any inquiry. "There are patients at risk due to suboptimal processes, lack of transparency, communication and waiting-list management practices at CHI." In a statement to the Sunday Independent, Ms Sherratt [@GillSherratt23] said the family still has no answers, two years after Harvey was removed from the waiting list. Ms Sherratt added the scope of the inquiry must be “wide” and “deep” enough “to truly uncover everything that’s been allowed to go on at CHI”. #PublicInquiryCHi #Whistleblower #JusticeforHarvey #CHI #HowIrelandWorks *Edited Front Page* independent.ie/irish-news/i-…

Grand functional projects from the past! In #Chambord. It certainly is not echoed in the #Metrolink @DarraghOBrienTD ...the port tunnel is a success because it serves a need. #Metrolink will not link standard rail to the airport. It's a grand folly without artistic merit?

I am proud to announce my first bill with the ambition to make public spending fully transparent in Ireland. Too often, taxpayers can see what is spent, but not what it was spent on. That must change. My Tender to Payment (Public Spending Transparency) Bill will create a golden thread from procurement to final payment, delivering greater transparency, accountability, and value for money for the public. businesspost.ie/politics/new… @DanielTMurray

Appalled at the shocking behaviour of Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir towards illegally detained members of the Sumud Flotilla. The Israeli government’s actions are in breach of international law and I intend to raise this issue at EU level.

Replying to @IrishTimes
@IrishTimes is there an adult amongst us? ACP in final report mentioned Newton Plan (which you featured) as not considered by NTA. It costs a fraction of Metrolink. @MichealMartinTD @DarraghOBrienTD were given details. Political power must be accountable and media have a role?

Asking @DarraghOBrienTD to provide a statement from the NTA will not suffice. An independent review is required @IrishTimes @MichealMartinTD @GovIE

This is consistent with EU policy and we should get EU funding if any going at all. @MichealMartinTD & @DarraghOBrienTD don't want to know, it seems.
That is my huge concern. State is planning no funding a lame duck non economically viable vanity projects from our savings. Missing main line rail link from Donabate to Blanchardstown on open land is approx 18/19 kms too and cost a tiny fraction of #MetroLink @DarraghOBrienTD

Why has no EU funding been sought? Why is the MetrLink being solely funded by the state, i.e., taxpayers? Why is Metro not in keeping with EU policy? Why is alternative mentioned by planning board ( ACP in final report) not considered by NTA which ticks these boxes? @IrishTimes
🚇A major milestone for MetroLink today. The tender issued for trains, tracks and stations. A 25-year contract, with works starting this August/September. Fully funded by Government and we’re committed to delivering it

It's a political decision and not an economic one to spend whatever it takes to build an underground from Dublin city to the airport.
