Vrunda Manohar Desai, IRS, Textile Commissioner, GoI, Mumbai, visited Fairdeal Textile Park, Surat on 28 May 2026 and reviewed initiatives related to Technical Textiles, Skill Development, Pre-Weaving Operations, and advanced weaving technologies including Jacquard Rapier, Airjet, Waterjet and Needle Looms. She also reviewed the Workers’ Hostel & Mess, Common Facility Centre (CFC), CETP and reservoir facilities developed within the park. During the interaction with stakeholders, she encouraged exploration of a Textile Waste Management Facility in collaboration with Surat Municipal Corporation and highlighted sustainable textile recycling initiatives being undertaken in Navi Mumbai.
