After writing my debut book in 2018, the one I told you guys earlier that I submitted to a publishing firm in the UK, I made some strategic movements and I want you to learn a few things. I did webinars on Facebook to create massive awareness and to have it launched. FIRST LESSON here is, after creating a product, be it digital or physical, you must be your biggest promoter and the best way to do that is becoming a reputable person, reputation sells. Blow your trumpet so high. You invested in the product, nobody knows how much you invested it, so talk about it. For me, I sat for hours writing!  It was then an ebook. Lots of shares and purchases from friends and followers. One of my followers who is also a relative asked me to keep two copies for him. I told him it was an ebook at the moment. He asked me how much I'd take to print it. I told him I can't print just two but in batches. I made calculations and told him. A few days later, I saw the exact amount I mentioned for 500 copies in my account. I shivered and had it printed. SECOND LESSON: Know how to project yourself and your products. Be optimistic and give yourself and product leverage to be sponsored.  My next moves kickstarted. I went to my secondary school and I proposed my book as both an academic excellence and moral instruction book or manual that has everything to help their students become better and productive in life. I went to my university; straight to the two biggest churches - the University's Chapel and Catholic Church, I told them about the book and had copies sent to them. I met executives of some fellowships in the school and told them about the book and gave all of them copies to sell. LESSON THREE: You must have the audacity to excel in life and break into places and people you've not before. Be bold, take the step, and dare your fear.  I reached out to friends in different states and did the same and not one of them said no. Why? LESSON FOUR: I've invested greatly in relationships. It's almost impossible to meet any I've contact with that I've not left an impact and invested greatly in. Don't just have friends, invest in people, promote what they do, check up on them, gift them, and have time for them. Now, I'm the one holding the UK publisher from getting started: FINAL LESSON: Make sure your products, skills, knowledge, and more are relevant across borders. You deserve to make it! Don't limit yourself! Go and make it. I'm rooting for you!

I don't think anyone should advise you as an immigrant in Western countries, especially in the UK to start thinking beyond ILR. I don't know about others, but I hardly get worried by all this talk about immigration policies. Maybe, because I've not seen myself staying here for long even if I become a British citizen by document. Unfortunately, the UK politicians are mostly pushed by online opinions even from other countries and influencers like Elon Musk. What's happening in Belfast is a statement to every immigrant in the UK that the smiles you get, the hi, and you're alright greetings you get can change overnight when an immigrant whether legal or not acts crazy. No matter how much you want to comfort yourself with integration, you'll always be black in the eyes of many. So, work legally as you do, do all the right things you can do here, save that money, save it well, and more especially, support good governance in your home country. I get pissed seeing Nigerians in the UK, Canada, and more supporting this current government because of personal interest, religion, or tribe. We need to have outgrown this nonsense. Also, add greater value to yourself so that your relevance will be across borders while we hope good governance and leadership will become a reality soon. Stop begging or appearing beggary to people you're better than in all aspects - education, exposure, skills, because you want a place to stay. If they want to send everyone home, they should. It's their country but go back prepared than before. It starts now, save that money! If you're single, you're in luck now, with less responsibility. Use it right! Whether you like it or not, nowhere is better than home! Think home!

We learn everyday, the first time I heard about SC was on BBN, it’s the less severe compared to SS with fewer health crisis
I still find it interesting that there are other genotypes besides AA, AS, and SS. All these AC, SC, and CC look like a Gen Z trend to me. I wonder why I was never taught this in primary and secondary school. For those who don't know: AC: Hemoglobin C trait SC: Sickle cell Hemoglobin C disease CC: Hemoglobin C disease Don't ask me any more questions about marital compatibility because my head has no more space for genetic confusion!

There's this couple I admire here in the church here in the UK. Over 50 years of marriage. They always hold hands together even during worship. The man went home to be with the Lord last month.. I think there is something powerful in holding hands.
What’s a marriage lesson you learned from watching someone else’s marriage?

The way genetics keeps releasing new characters years after we thought we knew the full cast is wild. I grew up thinking it was AA, AS, and SS. Suddenly people are showing up with AC, SC, CC like they’ve been added in a software update.

😂 Same here! They made it seem like the only genotype that existed was just AA, AS, and SS. At this point, if you ask me about marital compatibility, I’ll just refer you to a genetic counselor because my storage is full too. 😭 but I’ll still ask you tho.

It's stressful expecting appreciation from mortals.
Some people become so used to receiving kindness that they stop appreciating it.

Some of these deaths are avoidable. You can't remain with a partner who is physically and verbally abusive and not expect this. I think instead of the argument about who kills more or which gender hates each other more, there should be increased talks about self-love and walking away.
Globally, around 51,000 women and girls were killed by an intimate partner or family member in 2023…an average of 140 every day. Nearly 60% of women intentionally killed were murdered by an intimate partner or family member. (UN Women) It’s not women doing those kills, so nope women are not women’s greatest enemies

Does any of them cause problems like SS?

Back when I did my Masters many years ago, things were so different here. Students worked several hours a week and nobody clamped down on them, even though it wasn't allowed. If you failed a course and needed to write it the next year, your visa was extended, inside the UK. A lot of my mates then did it. Sometimes when I think about it, I believe some intentionally failed. It recently I learnt that if you failed a course and needed your visa extending, you have to go back to your home country to apply for an extension. Things have changed so much in this country.

Just pass your master's first. If it's pass, just get the pass grade and do your work.

You can't use certain words in certain ways without expecting certain treatments. X is not a place to throw certain blows. There are better ways to go about things especially when it has to do with family.
What's with telling a mutual the truth and they unfollow you? That was how I told this one that what her mum did is not midwifery but rather that she's a quack, she started insulting me then unfollowed me 😭🤣

I saw a video earlier today on Facebook where immigrants in the care and social industry in the UK were speaking and sending their petition to the PM. I was just watching and thinking. So many uncertainties in the mind of many people. Many are so confused and restless and they're just living not knowing what might happen next. I was just thinking, this isn't life. Life is already unfair and here are people asking politicians to remember their promises during Covid. They had a hashtag #fairvisa. Then, I remembered life here isn't even as beautiful as life at home but leadership has turned many people into begging to be accepted in an environment where politicians will always use them and immigration as campaign strategy. This life 😒

Honestly, it's very unfair. Opened that door to deal with the shortage they had back then, now they are treating people unfairly....breaking promises they made

Nobody prepares you for the fact that being an adult is spending 90% of your life solving problems you didn’t create. Bills. Traffic. Inflation. Family expectations. Work stress. And somehow you’re still expected to smile and say, “I’m fine.” What’s the hardest part of adulthood nobody warned you about?

There’s someone out there that is praying for the opportunity you’re about to complain about. Stay grateful, stay focused, and make today count.
