Indonesia masuk 3 besar negara dengan geopark terbanyak di dunia, sejajar dengan Italia yang sama-sama memiliki 12 geopark UNESCO.
Geopark bukan hanya destinasi wisata alam, tetapi juga kawasan edukasi yang menggabungkan konservasi, budaya lokal, dan pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat.
China masih memimpin jauh dengan 49 geopark, disusul Spanyol 18 geopark, menunjukkan kuatnya pengelolaan warisan geologi sebagai aset wisata berkelanjutan.
