Feels like college graduation didn’t really hit the same this year… felt like all the students and even the parents were trying to figure out if it even matters anymore.

You don’t have to love Elon Musk to recognize what this headline says about us. A country that spends more time criticizing wealth creation than encouraging it sends a clear message to builders: your success is tolerated, not celebrated. Canada should be the best place in the world to build ambitious companies. Headlines like this make us look like we’re not quite ready for that.

Our educational system is increasingly failing the weakest students. What can be done to turn this around?

Introducing Claude Fable 5: a Mythos-class model that we’ve made safe for general use. Its capabilities exceed those of any model we’ve ever made generally available.

the reason statistics like this exist is because we’re looking at a group of people who pursue the most challenging and ambitious thing of their generation. and at the time, grad school was that thing now there are new more interesting problems to tackle and a lower barrier to entry so that statistic is just correlation, not causation school did not make these people successful, they went to school because they were ambitious, and willing to take on the most difficult challenges. that trait is the most relevant predictor of success in any field or endeavour.
“I think the more impressive stat is that 63% of CEO's went to Grad School!”

post-launch of @units_school we have more applications than we can physically accept for our first in-person location will be launching new online programs to help the rest. we will not stop until we've replaced public school.

University of California STEM professors want standardized tests back due to severe math deficiencies among students: “We now observe preparation gaps so severe that instructors must reteach middle school mathematics” “The current admissions metric, based primarily on GPA & essays, can no longer reliably distinguish readiness for university-level STEM majors in an era of severe grade inflation & AI assisted application essays”

Steve Jobs said, "people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones who do." You don't get to see them often. But when you do, make sure you support and cheer for them. Keep going @coderpr0grammer, @units_school is supercool!
Schools kill the creativity, passion and spirit of students Everyone knows this and complains about this Yet I’ve received threats and hate from the same people, defending the very system they loathe. I will not stop until we’ve replaced every legacy school with @units_school

This is incredibly low signal Chasing a VC is exactly what YC would tell you not to do. They would tell you to be relentlessly resourceful in finding customers. This just shows you’re doing everything to please VCs instead of focusing on customers.
Update: I’m camping outside YC with my laptop, Meta glasses, and Jarvis/OpenClaw helping me pull every lever. Not because I’m entitled to a reply. Because this is what I believe founders do: move until the last possible second. One final look... @ycombinator @garrytan

the level of stockholm syndrome is insane people will complain their entire lives about how much they hate the system they’ll sit and take it, too complacent to do anything about it and then senselessly trash the people who actually enough fucks to build a solution for them
Can we for gods sake ban such young ppl to tell the world how the society should be run? And the comments of similar folks is even amazing. They have literally zero understanding how human brain develops and think ChatGPT’ing it will short circuit its learning

4) Starting with high school. If you are young and ambitious, this is for you. Learn a Unit. Apply it the same day. Graduate faster while building real world skills. It is no longer enough to get high grades. The world cares about what you can and have actually done.
