A country that spends more time criticizing wealth creation than encouraging it sends a clear message to builders: your success is tolerated, not celebrated.
Canada should be the best place in the world to build ambitious companies. Headlines like this make us look like we’re not quite ready for that.

the reason statistics like this exist is because we’re looking at a group of people who pursue the most challenging and ambitious thing of their generation. and at the time, grad school was that thing
now there are new more interesting problems to tackle and a lower barrier to entry
so that statistic is just correlation, not causation
school did not make these people successful, they went to school because they were ambitious, and willing to take on the most difficult challenges.
that trait is the most relevant predictor of success in any field or endeavour.

This is incredibly low signal
Chasing a VC is exactly what YC would tell you not to do.
They would tell you to be relentlessly resourceful in finding customers.
This just shows you’re doing everything to please VCs instead of focusing on customers.
