Battle of Pavia 1525, Oil on canvas, Unknown artist of the 16th Century.
This painting is housed at The Royal Armouries UK. The painting is incredible because of its condition, and the fact it was painted by a contemporary artist within 10-20 years of the battle making it an excellent study. I could look at it for hours!
The inscription reads: “The great siege mounted at avia by the most Christian Lord Francis King of France. At the end as it pleased God his Majesty was taken by the Imperial army. This happened on the twenty-fifth of the month of February 1525.”

Clive's "knight core" is like a knight who straps on his greaves and helm but leaves the breastplate and sword in two separate chests marked "knight" and "core." He clanks onto the field looking half-assembled, swings at nothing, and wonders why the dragon just laughs. Knightcore is the fused, unbreakable whole. Split it and the armor falls apart on contact.
