It was amazing to have them and such a coup for our school too on #WorldBeeDay! 😅🐝🦋
It's #WorldBeeDay!🐝 VP for Biodiversity and Climate Action Jane Stout travelled to Cork to speak with TY students at St Colman's in Midleton. Jane and Una Fitzpatrick from @BioDataCentre also visited nearby Scoil Bhríde who have done amazing biodiversity work on their grounds.

It's vital that students got a chance to rest and relax during midterm break. Full attendance during term time ensures we maximise our potential in school and reap the benefits #everyschooldaycounts

Take heed!!
Please take a few moments today to prepare for #StormIsha tomorrow. • Ensure garden furniture is secured, or tied down. Including trampolines! • Waste bins are secured, and in a safe place. • Ensure pets are taken inside (yes, this includes goats!) • Ensure devices such as phones, laptops and tablets are charged in advance. • Close and fasten any windows, and doors. • Stay away from any coastal areas, and beaches. • Take heed, and listen to all warnings issued by Met Éireann and local authorities. • If you do need to drive, take extra care on the roads and expect falling/fallen debris. Keep a safe distance from the car in front of you. • Should you come across downed power cables, stay clear and do not touch them. It's also important to not touch any item that's come in contact with them - such as another vehicle. R• eport the issue to ESB Networks: 1800 372 999. • Check ESB Networks Powercheck for details on power outages. If you experience a power outage, contact ESB Networks on 1800 372 999 and have your MPRN ready. • Check on any vulnerable neighbours, or elderly people living in your vicinity.

In Iceland the tradition is to gift books on Christmas Eve and then spend the night reading and eating chocolate - we think that sounds perfect. It’s called Jólabókaflóðið - we really like the idea of this, and here are some of our recommendations for reading over Christmas.
