Memecoins have lowkey been soulless ever since, amongst other things, but the abandonment of Photoshop. People used to photoshop memes, so they all were a little rough around the edges, and that's what gave them their charm. Now the production quality is too high for its own good. There's a big opportunity for a memecoin to just start photoshopping dank memes again.

my personal experience with 'making it' or 'logging off forever' is that you are able to allocate your time much better to the things you wish to be doing. for me it is active things like tennis, surfing, snowboarding, working out, and then intellectually stimulating things like chess, reading and language learning (i take 4-5 lessons per week when im home) what i have found is that i am still passionate about the crypto space, it's where ive spent most of my energy and time over the past 6 years of my life, and i do have a genuine interest in the innovation being built here. but ive also found that crypto is like a cancer, you either cut it off or you have to try and treat it to live well. it's very difficult to find balance, it's hard to be passive and there are many reasons to be bitter or frustrated if you log on everyday. i currently have most of my net worth in equities and more 'boring' things, slowly allocating over time and fairly conservatively. then i have a portion of my portfolio in crypto (btc/hype) that i am slowly adding to at reasonable prices, but i have no interest in chasing short PnLs or putting my lifestyle at risk due to big bets im still not really sure how i want to use this platform ive built, it took me a lot of effort and there's a lot of people on here that i appreciate. i also believe i can contribute a lot to this space, but im yet to strike a consistent balance that feels comfortable outside of mostly logging off. for me the things that are most rewarding in life are sport, eating well, time in the sun, learning, travel, reading and being with genuine people. i cannot imagine a world where i would ever allocate 12 hours per day on screens or charts or twitter. i want to look back as an old man and be proud of how i spent my youth, not how many days i burned staring at microcap charts and telegram chats. my advice for people with their portfolios is to imagine you were all in cash right now, would you allocate your money in the same places as it is right now? if not then you should reassess. my advice for time is the same, if you had a blank slate for a day or a week, would you allocate it the same way you spend each day or week? for me making it is about being in control of my time and allocating it towards the things that fill up my cup, as well as enjoying the journey of finding out what those things are. avec amour jords
I think Thiccy described really well on the Threadguy stream why no one ever manages to leave this place: After hitting his number he took 6 months off and tried to play other games, hang out with friends, do sports, etc., only to realize that the outside world (non-online) move so slowly. It's like they live 10 years behind. Online you have this insanely fast feedback loop, and which is why the frontier of humanity thrives in here playing all these games. Also it helps to get rewarded PnL-wise, and in the combination with getting instant feedback from some of the smartest people on the internet, it's very hard to leave. For myself, the plan was to quit after the 2024 cycle. But I changed plans. I spend 12 hours daily in here already, and can't see myself suddenly doing a full stop. This is what I am good at (obviously way behind many OGs), but still, I think that as long as I enjoy it, then why not keep doing it. I was also telling myself that I would quit at $1m. But then I got there in 2021, and at this point, it's not about making the sickest gains (obviously I don't mind it), but this is a game that is mentally stimulating and very competitive too. I will never become as great as many of the traders or DeFi degens on CT, but I think as long as I enjoy it myself, can evolve and become better earn something from it, then I am fine with that.

if you're feeling down these days about the fact that you wasted your life and money by being in crypto, don't worry, you wouldn't be doing anything meaningful with your life anyway.

The longer you spend in crypto, the stronger the urge to buy a farm and never touch a computer again in your life.
