public transit makes driving better. We don't have it in Detroit. Parking for Lions games hits $100. traffic adds 30 minutes. and do you wanna drive drunk? uber is $$ and still has strangers Here's a Nats game in DC. Every one of these people is one less car on the road.
I don’t understand people who like public transit. How can you possible enjoy being stuck in a moving vehicle with people you don’t know? Ew.

One of the key questions I have is "Who is going to clean house?" And I think any of these three, in addition to their strong urbanist credentials, are going to shake up DC government.

Im on the fence too but tie breaker for me is the Mayor fully controls DDOT & transportation policy & McD is terrible there while the DC Council has as much control on housing as the Mayor so Mendo & his stupid housing takes will be as important as JLGs (or McDs) kooky ones.

Grand Rapids is one of the United States’ most underrated cities tbh
Is Grand Rapids one of the Midwest’s most underrated cities? ArtPrize, craft breweries, riverfront trails, historic neighborhoods, and a downtown that feels far more interesting than people expect.

The question voters should ask is simple: when key transportation projects faced controversy, where did @kenyanmcduffie stand? Let's see: bikewalkbuspac.com/single-po…

My first trip to the neighborhood of North Cleveland Park (aka Van Ness) since 2019 to see 1) that there is now an actual bar (I’m a sucker for those window outdoor bar seating), 2) the historic former Burger King, and 3) the amazing Bread Furst bakery

This is why I can’t vote for McDuffie. His entire campaign is about allowing DC to stagnate. I don’t like JLG very much at all. But it seems she is much more open to welcoming new neighbors and making our streets safer for people outside of cars. I’ll be ranking her and not him.
This is absurd from @kenyanmcduffie . Our historic preservation laws are insane. The bar for preservation is very low - you don't even need the permission of the property owner! I know this because someone in 1E almost had their home historically preserved by someone else. (1/3)

facts. and let's remember that Green Zone had to cut staff bc of the loss of customers. this is precisely how NOT to (a) design public policy nor (b) build urban space around human beings. we can do so much better... and do right by our residents & workers & small biz

“We desperately need a world where kids can be let loose in a neighborhood and told to come home for dinner. That requires more walkable places, which in turn requires a fuller and smarter discussion about walkability.”
The federal government keeps a Walkability Index. It’s really bad. The Trump Admin should make it better. Start by moving it from the EPA to Transportation (@SecDuffy). Then take traffic volume and speed into account. Maybe consider schools, sidewalks, and playgrounds. washingtonexaminer.com/in_fo…

.@dcpolicycenter has a fascinating new report on what ails D.C.'s housing market, and how to fix it. In short: Change rules to allow more building in more places, trim back on bureaucracy that slows construction, unclog the eviction process, and more. dcpolicycenter.org/publicati…

Greatest airport terminal in the world. Nearly no lines, a Dunkin inside. I once made it from the jetway to the Manhattan-bound M60 bus in <4 minutes, the same bus that connects directly to the Metro-North. All that plus dirt-cheap flights across the country. RIP Spirit
One of the many tragedies of Spirit Airlines downfall is not being able to use the old Marine Air Terminal at LaGuardia

Can anyone explain why Rini isn't considered a frontrunner? Stuff like this is so cool and it shows she understands the areas DC's government needs to improve
Loved showing Chad, the owner of local gems Causa and @ServiceBarDC, the new Small Business Concierge website our campaign designed. We created the app to help entrepreneurs navigate DC’s overly complex permitting system — and to show residents that it’s possible for city government to be accessible and easy to navigate. You can check it out for yourself at riniformayor.com/smallbiz

A policy and governance failure. Fixing the Basics means making the process to have streateries streamlined and straightforward. We should be prioritizing these types of uses for our streets, and it will be a day 1 priority for me.
Nearly half of D.C.'s streateries have vanished since last year as new regulations kick in. Restaurant owners say the rules are confusing and expensive, raising questions about the future of D.C.'s outdoor dining. axios.com/local/washington-d…
