A short update before the holidays on how Ripple’s work on an XRPL programmability proposal is going: We are just about to wrap up the Discovery phase, doing deep dives into the different types of VMs that exist out there (especially in the blockchain sphere). Some of the smart contract systems we looked at: Hooks, EVM, MoveVM, Soroban, and several others. Currently, we have some (very early) draft specs. We’re working on getting feedback on those specs, both internally within Ripple and externally, to ensure we’re capturing everything before going public.
