Few project have a lore worth telling and @metadaoproject is one of them 🧵 Why? Futarchy is one of these paradigm shift you rarely see in crypto and the cult that our high priest @metaproph3t created is somewhat unique

me: wdyt of X? ai: HOLY SHIT that's the greatest idea I've ever heard, you're a genius, the next john carmack vs me: my biggest enemy, who I hate, suggested "X". wdyt? ai: he has a point, but didn't consider Y which could cause issues if Z astonishing how well this works tbh

current SOTA and that's with a fucked up jump table impl (don't look at 1 non-dupe acc cost🫣) and another 0.5 CU per account optimization (that I know of!) missing - 100% beatable!
Replying to @cavemanloverboy
current SOTA I will stream and talk about the ≈5 that haven't been discussed. quite cool ones

Today's transaction size limit on Solana is too restricting to developers, limiting what can be built SIMD-296 proposes to change this TLDR: - Raise cap to 4kb - New transaction format v1 - Removal of ALTs in new format Checkout the full proposal 👇

> skip accelerate to lock-in on building, I'll go to breakpoint anyway > first talk they basically announce re-inventing the entire chain > literally everyone seems to be there > @yrschrade calls me > "dude this is the best conference ever, even better than breakpoint" 🫠🫠🫠🫠

truly insane stuff. rotor making me feel like a smooth brain for previously just assuming the tradeoffs of turbine were a given (cascading failure if close to root node in the tree fully shits the bed which erasure shreds dont help much with), super clean design didn't fully dig into the intricacies of votor yet, but using bls for votes has felt like a total no-brainer with huge payoff for ages (the *idea* of it at least, I'm sure it wasn't easy!), extremly cool to see this being implemented and yea it goes without saying that ~150ms finalization times for a globally distributed chain is just mind-boggingly fast. accelarate!

sad, esp w the news of kidnappings in france. KYC data ( sensitive data generally) always becomes a target, and the people affected can do little to defend themselves except hope that the parties custodying their data won't fuck up bullish on a world where we trust math instead
Cyber criminals bribed and recruited rogue overseas support agents to pull personal data on <1% of Coinbase MTUs. No passwords, private keys, or funds were exposed. Prime accounts are untouched. We will reimburse impacted customers. More here: coinbase.com/blog/protecting…

this is probably one of my favorite parts of Cerberus, as without dishonest majority, you have an inherent conflict between trustlessness and scalability for honest majority MPC: how do you make an honest majority system trustless? get *as many nodes* as possible so that controlling the majority of that is incredibly hard how do you make an MPC system scalable? get *as few nodes* as possible since MPC overhead increases w node count dishonest majority allows us an out between this deadlock, since with it our trust assumptions no longer are a function of the total node count and instead are a constant 1. This means we can operate smaller clusters and still be confident things are working as long as we trust at least one of the nodes in it (could even be ourselves!)

One of the most important design choices in an MPC protocol is the trust model: dishonest vs honest majority. Arcium supports both — Cerberus assumes a dishonest majority, while Manticore assumes an honest one. Two protocols, each built for different needs. 👇
