I’ve heard a lot of people on the right say the intentions of leftists are bad. It’s mostly not true, this has happened so many times in history before we need to actually learn this time. Read Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning. Most Nazis who committed horrible atrocities were normal people who were molded, one small step after another, through authority and propoganda, to commit horrific acts and see other humans as sub-human. Radical people on the left, ones who seem to lack empathy completely, are MOSTLY all good people with good intentions who have been so severely brainwashed and radicalized to believe they’re fighting an invisible enemy. You’ve all heard it - the right, they’re nazis, they’re pedophile sympathizers, they’re racist, they’re dangers to your freedom. The left thinks they’re fighting a literal Hitler in virtue because they’ve been fed this information on a drip over and over and they can’t break free from it without help. The right is starting to think this too, and if we don’t stop it now and help break the propaganda machine it just wins AGAINNNNNN. We don’t have a left or right problem we have a propaganda problem that we are IGNORING AGAIN FOR THE 100th TIME IN HISTORY. I don’t know who is behind it and I don’t know why. I don’t know if it’s coordinated or accidental. But I know we need to stop focusing on a non issue over and over, and get to the heart of this for once to prevent even greater tragedy than we have already seen. Stop fighting other good humans who are scared, and start breaking each other free from this propagandistic grip that is pushing us farther and farther again and again. This is not an excuse for the monster that killed Charlie or any of the others who commit political violence, it’s a wake up call for the reality we are heading towards if we interpret this horrific act the wrong way. The left and the right aren’t enemies for the most part, we need to support each other with the TRUTH and resistance to this push towards killing each other.

Charlie died protecting what he spent his life fighting for. We have to use this moment to remember just how much our freedom is worth protecting, and what society looks like if people like him stop protecting it despite the threats we face in doing so.
