I'm looking for advice on synthesizing a small molecule(<200 Da) organic molecule that is not commercially available. Any advice on companies we could use to synthesize this for us? There are published protocols, but we are not chemists and other extraction methods seem tedious.

Great 🧵 by @andrewjroger summarising the PhD work of @retortacarp characterising another (probably) amitochondriate lineage. The paper has everything! great genomes, the best FeS cluster system, and beautiful images by @PsiWavefunction (check out the bonus preprint at the end).
Can free-living eukaryotes exist without mitochondria? In a new paper from my group led by @retortacarp, we show that the answer is probably yes!
