There should never have been a negotiation between a colonial power and a people fighting for their own liberation. On that point, he is not wrong. Europe did not want Jews before the Holocaust, during the Holocaust, or, in many cases, after the Holocaust. The solution embraced by many governments was not to confront their own antisemitism, but to support Jewish migration to occupy/colonize Palestine. The people already living there were never meaningfully consulted about their future. Whether one agrees with his conclusion or not, that historical reality cannot simply be ignored.

Smatrali smo ovo veoma važnim korakom i zato nam je trebalo neko vrijeme. Nakon dva realizovana SrebrenicaDocs, od naredne godine je ovaj program dijelom trajnog kalendara Memorijalnog centra, a Upravni odbor je usvojio i Pravilnik, koji se uređuje buduća dodjela priznanja za doprinos dokumentarnom filmu o genocidu u Srebrenici.
SrebrenicaDocs postaje dio trajnog programa Memorijalnog centra Srebrenica i ubuduće će se održavati u prvoj sedmici juna svake godine. Upravni odbor Memorijalnog centra donio je Pravilnik o dodjeli priznanja za doprinos dokumentarnom filmu o genocidu u Srebrenici, čime je festival, koji je prve dvije godine realizovan uz podršku Vlade Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva, ušao u stalni institucionalni kalendar Centra.
Priznanje će se dodjeljivati filmskim stvaraocima, redateljima, producentima i drugim filmskim radnicima čiji rad doprinosi dokumentiranju genocida i očuvanju kulture sjećanja. Pravo na nominaciju imat će filmske institucije i organizacije, fondacije i udruženja filmskih radnika, memorijalni centri, akademske institucije te pojedinci iz oblasti filmske kritike, historije i novinarstva. Prvo priznanje bit će dodijeljeno 2027. godine.
