Hallelujah! After two years of bargaining, endless hours in planning meetings and at the bargaining table, we have a contract! We fought hard for this — all of our membership — and it worked. As we like to say in CWA (our parent union): When we fight, we win!

The San Francisco archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church will likely file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Archbishop Salvatore Cordeleone said in a statement. The statement came in response to questions from The Chronicle. Story coming shortly.

In a historic election, Claude Cummings Jr. was elected as president of CWA by delegates to the union’s 79th convention and Ameenah Salaam was elected Secretary-Treasurer.

NYT sent memo to staff today announcing it willl dissolve its sports desk to focus on sports coverage at the Athletic.
"As part of these changes, we will no longer have a freestanding Sports desk, and current Sports staff will transition to other desks around the newsroom."
