15 years ago todayβ€”after five long months of beginning to relearn how to walk and talkβ€”I was released from TIRR Memorial Hermann. I’ll always remember how it felt reaching this milestone as I readied myself for the road ahead. Like so many victims of gun violence, my recovery is a lifelong journey. After being shot in the head, I was left partially paralyzed and with a condition called aphasia. Words used to come so easily to me, and now I struggle to speak. As I reflect on how far I’ve come in the past 15 years, I know I could never have done it alone. I’ll forever be grateful to the doctors, nurses, and therapists who fought this battle alongside me in those early days. They are true heroes β™₯️

For 26 years, her killer had a name… but she didn’t. 16-year-old Tiffany Bradley from Allentown, Pennsylvania, was trafficked into the Boston area. She was murdered by Eugene McCollom in his room at the Lynn YMCA. He strangled her, decapitated and dismembered her body, dumped her torso in a Chelsea parking lot, and buried her head and hands at Nahant Beach. For over two decades she was known only as β€œChelsea Jane Doe.” McCollom even lied to police, calling her β€œLisa,” an adult from Philadelphia. Her family reported her missing in November 2000 and never gave up hope. This week in 2026, thanks to DNA and genetic genealogy, Tiffany finally has her name back. She was a daughter, a niece, a cousin, a basketball player β€” a child who deserved to grow up. Say her name: Tiffany Bradley. πŸ’” Rest in peace, sweet girl. πŸ™

RT @drfunkenberry: Thank U. There are times when I agree with Tommy Barberella about Prince not allowing people to get close or having real…

So in regards to the "Timeless" cover art, I do not know if this was inadvertently an inspiration as the image of PRINCE is from the same time period & immediately I thought of it. What I can tell U is Prince sent me this photo taken by Jordan Strauss in 2011 to use for posts, which means it was a photo that Prince liked & wanted used & had his approval & we (Prince & I) used it for a rehearsal of "The Dance Electric" on Sunday April 15th, 2012 to promote the Welcome 2 Australia shows which just went on sale. Hours before, Julia R. called me from rehearsal & Prince wanted to send me something they just did at rehearsal. "He is excited", Julia said & I could hear Prince yelling behind her in excitement as well & Julia laughed. Regardless, when I saw the image for "Timeless" it made me immediately think of the post and the photo and the comments on the post as Prince asked what did they want to hear on the tour? Almost 600 comments. Wonder how many requests were met. Fun times. This has been storytime with J/funkenberry. Hope U enjoy. drfunkenberry.com/2012/04/15…

Another 🧡 is here: This time, about a BRAND NEW ALBUM that hasn’t even been released yet. How β€˜TIMELESS’, the newest Prince project, could be introduced to the world before it’s even released.πŸ’œβœ¨πŸ’ #PRINCE4EVER πŸ“Έ: Marc Canter

One thing about Black folks, we gonna pay a compliment that sounds like an insult. Especially with music. We’ll call something nasty, say it’s disgusting, say it made us nauseous. But everybody understands exactly what we mean. And when we hear a beat that goes, we gonna look like you violated a health code. Like something STANK…cause that’s the funk in us. For Day 15 of the #BlackMusicMonthChallenge, share the beat that makes you scrunch your face up every time.

New Power Soul was released in June of 1998 and it's one of Prince's albums that's sort of grown in stature. It wasn't a success but Prince toured around Europe and promoted the shit out of it, features great party tracks like Mad Sex, Push It Up and Come On Give it another try!
