For decades, Justice Clarence Thomas has secretly accepted luxury trips from a major Republican donor, newly obtained documents and interviews show. The extent and frequency of these apparent gifts to Thomas has no known precedent in modern SCOTUS history... 🧵👇

The Attorney General, at least, should understand that while social media is powerful, free speech is not an absolute right. For example, it is a crime to use speech to incite others to commit a crime law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/… or to make a terrorist threat revisor.mo.gov/main/OneSecti….

The Left doesn’t actually believe in the First Amendment. To them it’s not about the free exchange of ideas — it’s about controlling the narrative. Anyone or anything that threatens that must be cast out. This is scary stuff for every American. Keep fighting back.

At this point, I'm only still hanging around to watch it all fall apart. It's mildly entertaining, in a horrifying way, but it's not a show I would pay money to see.

Voters across the country agree: Ranked Choice Voting can help fix our broken politics. With RCV, you force candidates to win a majority. That sounds simple, but it's HUGE.
“Candidate quality” matters is the takeaway for the GOP from this election. So what do you do about it? Ranked Choice Voting in primaries is one answer. Multi-candidate primaries aren’t going away. Winning 30-40% in a GOP primary is not sufficient to be competitive.

With all the talk about migrating to mastodon, I'm starting to picture myself as a tribal elder who realizes he has already made his last migration as he watches everyone pack up their furs and babies and earthenware pots and start traveling south ahead of the advancing glacier.

The Extremist Schmitt lives in Glendale, which has 4th highest income in MO. We know he's part of Trump's Treason Weasels, but why in the world would The Extremist sue to overturn the '20 election & outlaw all abortions, & use our tax $ for right-wing stunts? Fixed that for you.
The Heiress Valentine lives in a gated community — free from violent crime. We know she’s part of @tishaura’s squad but why in the world would The Heiress deny police the funding they desperately need to protect communities who need it most. Sad and out of touch!

For rural America, it’s not enough to subsidize them, and get mail, internet, and healthcare to places the market would leave behind, but apparently you also must pretend that’s not happening lest you hurt their feelings. And this, supposedly, is the attitude that respects them.

“Half of U.S. adults (50%, up from 35% in 2019) feel that Supreme Court justices ‘are just like any other politicians’ and ‘we cannot trust them to decide court cases in a way that is in the best interest of our country.’” annenbergpublicpolicycenter.…

The struggle of our time is not left versus right, Democrat versus Republican. It’s a struggle for democracy versus authoritarianism.
