Did the #blender Donut beginner tutorial by @andrewpprice, but just placed them on my kitchen's table instead of the plate. Incredible how things get realistic with just a few clicks.

๐๏ธ My weekend was ๐ฆ #rustlang building #axum services and layers and bring together web #gRPC and http with logging, tracing and so on. I care a lot about DX. While Rust is very fast, lots of frameworks go DX-unfriendly high-generic zero cost abstraction way on top ๐.

There are a lot of structs that only impl e.g. Service when a constraint is met which is mandatory, but they don't have the constraints on the struct itself so you can create useless objects until you feed into the framework. I understand the reason for that, but DX is bad.

If you need high performance, Rust is perfect, but in a web server framework I'd like to see more type erased futures or dynamic dispatching as it makes it easier to write and compile code. Monomorphization optimizations is too much in web servers.

#oauth is easy. What is really hard is how to make secure #browser apps with oauth ๐. Where and how you store tokens is not part of the spec so you have to choose wisely and it seems like not all experts and libraries agree. That sucks. I want to concentrate on the business ๐จโ๐ผ.

๐กI have plans about a new #oss #fundraising platform that distributes the donation ๐ธ according to a dependency manifest ๐ณ file of the donor. So the money goes directly ๐จ to oss maintainers, which enables that project ๐.
