All things #SharedParentalLeave and #GenderEquality - check out my Shared Parental LEAGUE - which highlights the best performers as regards to SPL enhanced pay.
This would support the view that there needs to a be a period of non-transferable leave given to all parents (something I called for in my response to the Govt consultation) dadonspl.co.uk/2019/12/my-su…
Another crucial (but often overlooked) factor re SPL is what I call the "Birthday Peg" - WHEN fathers can take enhanced paid leave is often just as important as WHETHER they can take it. If enhanced pay is pegged to the birth date - uptake becomes much less likely / useful.

I think it's easy to say SPL has been a failure, but looking at my league, I'd actually say #SPL has been pivotal catalyst in helping change attitudes. You mention @avivaplc Aviva, but @SLA_plc offer by far the best SPL policy in UK and others are following their lead.
I've appeared on @CareerDadUK podcast and the Legally speaking podcast talking about these issues. You'll also find a series of interviews on my blog with other professionals that have taken SPL. If you'd like to discuss any of my work further - do send me a msg / email. Thanks!
@wmarybeard Hi! My daughter, Millicent, turns 1 soon. I'm giving her my signed copy of #womenandpower and also having an ex libris stamp made for her. I want the stamp to contain the motto "You are determined!" in Latin but can't seem to find a good translation. Pls can you help?
“in 20 years time I want to mention to the kids that I did SPL and I want them to say ‘so what dad?’ because it’s something commonplace, done by most fathers.”

is perpetuating the view that women should be the primary child caregiver. This is the very view that perpetuates the gender pay gap.
Surely it would have been better for Labour to frame its policy in terms of extending statutory parental leave pay for BOTH parents 2/3
This would highlight the need to encourage more men to take SPL and share the joys of being the primary caregiver, which would be more effective in reducing the gender pay gap and ultimately benefit women more than simply extending the period of paid leave?? 3/3. @KateAndrs
