𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦: Daniel (Social Lead) Daniel has spent the early part of his career in film and media – doing both journalistic and marketing work in and around Nigeria's popular Nollywood scene. He moved into the digital assets space inspired by the unlock blockchain products like stablecoins have made possible for people like him across the Global South. At Miden, Daniel leads communications and strategy on socials. He's the one making sure everyone gMidens in the AM. Outside of work, you'll find him debating football on X. When he's not doing that, he's watching a classic Nollywood flick, immersing himself in Korean cinema, or reading Substack newsletters documenting life as a young person in Lagos.

I asked Harvey Bahia, Head of Business at Send App by @theflutterwave, why stablecoins are important for African adoption. His response:

🚨 Big Scoop 🚨 Ripple, the $50 billion blockchain infrastructure company, has made an undisclosed investment in Flutterwave’s Series E at a $3.25 billion valuation! Africa’s stablecoin race is ramping up. We are witnessing in real time where African payments are headed, who gets to build the rails, and why the stablecoin race for the continent just got serious.

Time is so kind
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) mentioned stablecoin(s) at least 68 times in its newly releasedPayments System Vision 2028 (PSV 2028).  For a regulator that once wanted banks nowhere near cryptocurrency businesses, this is a remarkable shift.  techcabal.com/2026/06/15/how… In February 2021, the CBN instructed banks and other financial institutions to close accounts associated with crypto transactions. At the time, the regulator argued that cryptocurrencies posed risks to financial stability, money laundering controls, and consumer protection. Five years later, the same institution is proposing an enabling framework for stablecoins to become part of Nigeria’s regulated payments infrastructure.

16 might be too far. Should be 13.
We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just can’t let that go on anymore. So we’re giving children their childhoods back.
Community note
The UK Government's 'careful review' of the research found a small correlation between children's use of social media and wellbeing, but no evidence of a causal effect: gov.uk/government/pub… assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/696e0b46…

People underrate dynamics. Rice and Saliba are leaders and cool heads, and they cover for his aggressiveness and entropy. Mainoo does the same for Casemiro.

An attacker will be absent all game in Intl football and tacticos will say “oh pressing and intensity”

Raphinha’s pressing and intensity is unbelievable. Strides like a gazelle. The epitome of a mentality monster.

United should sign Boauddi. Too young for the leap, but you can’t let a future Declan Rice go to the opps.

Mainoo is underrated. Plays with grandpa Casemiro, shines. Plays deep, shines. Plays ahead, shines. Big stage, small stage, shines

Arsenal should be going all out for Vinicius. Go up to 200M if RM demands that.

On Wednesday, I was on stage at @ETHConf talking about the final missing pieces for institutional adoption. The bottlenecks have always been technical, operational, and regulatory. Now we're seeing real movement on all three: privacy chains have matured from theory into something usable, and the regulations are getting clear with MiCA and GENIUS passing, and the CLARITY Act coming Regulators, builders, and institutions are finally pulling in the same direction.
