I talk about money a lot here. Heck, my coaching program is even called Make More Money.
So what‘s the first lesson I teach?
You might be surprised to know that it’s not about pricing, or profitability, or even defining revenue goals.
(All of those things are important, but they come later.)
The first lesson I teach is called, “Oprah Winfrey and Warren Buffett.” It‘s an exploration of the daily schedule of billionaires. You probably won’t be surprised to learn that it’s a very peaceful, tranquil, and relaxed schedule, full of things they want to do and devoid of things they don’t want to do.
“Of course it is,” you might think. “You can do whatever you want once you become a billionaire.”
Which is probably true. But that’s not how Oprah or Buffett talk about it. They both say that having a clear vision of what they want their days to look like fueled their ambition to make the money that would allow them to live that way.
The $1B number didn’t unlock the life. The life was unlocked somewhere along the way. It just so happened that the strategies and skills they put in place continued to compound even after they got the life they wanted.
It’s hard to make money without a purpose. Money itself tends to be a flimsy purpose past a certain point.
It’s hard to make money with a purpose, but it’s easier than without one. Your purpose makes it worthwhile to do the hard work, and money becomes the yield of the journey.
For the first time, I’m releasing all of my training as standalone videos for people who are self-directed learners. Watch it when you want, pause where you need to, come back to it. The goal is to walk away knowing exactly what purpose is driving your ambition to make more money.
