When engaging AI, think "powerful prompt phrases" and prompt chaining. Powerful phrases will give the AI guidance it needs for high quality and depth in it's responses: - Give AI a process - Define the audience and tone - Set hard constraints - Request critique - Generate alternatives - Deepen or expand on the initial output. Beyond your initial prompting comes prompt chaining. This is ideal for more complex cases where tasks might be too big for a single prompt. they consist of follow up prompts that extract deeper meaning/thinking from the first one.

Don't just use AI as a Search Engine, use it as a tool for so much more! Here is the exact 3-step methodology we used to build a personalized, advanced AI learning roadmap in under 10 minutes: 1. The Open Brainstorm: I didn't ask "how do I learn AI?" I told the AI my goal (learn advanced topics), my constraints (3-4 hours/week, no local GPUs, but access to Amazon Bedrock), and my tech background (Tech Support Python). 2. The Diagnostic Feedback Loop: Instead of letting the AI guess, I asked: "What questions can I answer to help you tailor your suggestions?" This forced the AI to extract my exact parameters (mathematical tolerance, career goals, available hardware). 3. Actionable Guardrails: Once we found the right track (Model Context Protocol & Tool-Calling), I forced a format: "Suggest 4 actions for this week as a table with column names." No walls of text—just a strict, execution-ready sprint plan. The Value: By treating the AI as an interactive interviewer rather than a magic oracle, I walked away with an optimized roadmap that perfectly respects my 4-hour weekly budget and leverages my existing tech support strengths. Stop prompting blindly. Interview your AI to unlock hyper-personalized strategies. #BuildInPublic #AI #PromptEngineering #CareerGrowth #TechSupport

When prompting #AI remember to follow the 3 C's: Be Concise. Be Clear. Be Consistent.

Some other tips: - Create a personal prompt library. - Don't reinvent the wheel. If you have a sucessful prompt, use it as a template. - Learn from others in your field/area.

SSH hardening on my Openclaw bot with auto reporting to @SANSInstitute Dshield, @ipabusedb , and @blocklist when IPs are banned. I mean, it's not a HUGE step, but it is a small swing back at the baddies.

I just published From a Python Script to a SaaS Platform: How a Volunteer Firefighter Vibe Coded His Way Through the… medium.com/p/from-a-python-s…

Everyone's vibe coding the next AI wrapper or SaaS tool for other vibe coders. But who's using it to solve real problems? Where are the firefighters building dispatch tools? The teachers building classroom apps? The farmers automating irrigation? The biggest opportunity in vibe coding isn't building for developers — it's empowering domain experts to build exactly what they need. What's the most "non-tech-bro" thing you've vibe coded? 👇 #VibeCoding #BuildInPublic #AI #NoCode #TechForGood #AIforEveryone

So, I'm confused here. Is it just me or are the vibe coders building tools for vibe coders to buy/subscribe to to vibe code with? Is that how you make money in this space now?

Just shipped some updates to the Vanguard status page - Last hour activity feed - Busiest hours heatmap - Trend lines peak day highlights Helping communities stay informed about local incidents in real-time. vanguardalerts.com/status/ir…

Been building something on the side for a while now and finally shipping it. Vanguard - real-time incident tracking for communities. Started as a tool for my county because I was tired of people not knowing what was happening around them. Turned into a full multi-tenant platform. Volunteer firefighter by night, apparently SaaS builder by later night. PulsePoint sync, weather alerts, automated Facebook posting, analytics - the whole thing. Each org gets their own isolated setup. Sometimes you just gotta build the thing you wish existed. Demo: vanguardalerts.com/demo #EmergencyAlerts #FirstResponders #Clerk #React #Convex #SideHustle

When my son was diagnosed with RSV, medication tracking became a nightmare. "Did we give it at 2pm?" "Who gave it last?" So I built Home Medication Tracker - an open-source web app that solves this problem for families. Key features: ✓ Track who gave what & when ✓ Smart timing reminders ✓ Mobile-friendly ✓ Works offline ✓ Your data stays local Perfect for parents managing kids' meds or families caring for elderly relatives. 🔗 github.com/the-data-sherpa/h… 🐳 hub.docker.com/r/datasherpa/… Built with FastAPI Docker. Free & open source. #OpenSource #Parenting #HealthcareTech

I'm sure others have done this, but I wanted a "Medication tracker" for my home after my little one got sick with RSV. So, I vibecoded something and put it in docker. It tracks medication times so that you know when you can give the next dose. github.com/the-data-sherpa/h…

Building, what I think, is a really cool project with a really fun stack: Stack - @convex for back end DB/Functions - @clerk for Auth/Billing - @nextjs for FrontEnd/Routes/Stuff - @shadcn / @tailwindcss for the pretty stuff So far it's coming along REALLY well.

Oh, #CriblCon25, it has been REAL. I had my badge scanned for sessions, kept my hooves free of germs, met some new friends, and got my hooves on Cribl. Thank you to all of the attendees, partners, sponsors, helpers, Criblanians, and everyone who made this journey through the next frontier of telemetry possible. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
