Trump doesn’t need to behave. His minions will explain away everything. “He is actually a devout Christian, but he just doesn’t want to ‘ wear it on his sleeve.’”

Vance: What's interesting about President Trump is that he doesn't wear it on his sleeve, but he is a person of faith. He thinks about these very deep questions: where did we come from? Where are we going?

Horrible.
Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv shares video of the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra in flames. “We ask for prayers for the salvation of the shrine from destruction,” he writes. He calls the Russian attack: “Another Russian crime against humanity, against history, against Christianity.”

But they could’ve made that threat without first bombing the shit out of the country!! This is an ad hoc, post hoc rationalization, covering their ass.
HEGSETH: The document says Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, won't seek one, won't buy one, won't have one BRENNAN: The JCPOA said that too HEGSETH: But they didn't have the threat of military force the way we do that Iran respects. President Trump led with military might.

There is a point here.
New piece. Losing the war with Iran is probably the best thing possible for the US. It highlights the corruption and incompetence at the top of the US system and might lead to soul-searching that will make things better in the long run. The US needs to learn humility.

How can you see this and not believe that we are evolutionarily related to gorillas?
Gorilla seen contemplating life after dispute with mate Kiyomasa, a western lowland gorilla at a zoo in Japan, was filmed sitting quietly and appearing deep in thought after a reported disagreement with his mate

Then we’ve got to ask Ted: So do you mean that metaphorically “blowing over like a feather in a stiff breeze” is a feminine trait? Really? And you wonder why you MAGA men like you are viewed as sexist troglodytes.
Ted Cruz on Talarico: "If you were making a list of 1,000 adjectives to describe this guy, 'masculine' would not be one of them. I mean, if a stiff breeze came by it would blow him over like a feather."

Have Smith take the dementia test, the one you've "aced" four times.
Jun 9
Reporter: Stephen A. Smith said he would blame you if the Knicks lost Trump: He is a nice guy but you need a certain aptitude to run for president. You need a high IQ. I don't think Stephen has it.

Yep, this was shocking, disgusting, inexcusable. So what’s going to happen to Trump now? Nothing.
Shame, what a shame… what an apotheosis of unimaginable vulgarity and arrogance, and a complete antithesis of the dignity that the office demands.

the face of a person who is never challenged, his world-view never questioned, literally never hears a syllable of opposition unless a journalist, usually a woman, questions him, & then he is astonished & infuriated.
OMG - Look at Donald Trump’s angry face during an interview with NBC News Kristen Walker! What’s up with his angry face? 🤣

Censorship system imperfect; it works largely through gradually escalating intimidation once you get on the radar of the security authorities. So people self-censor. I like He Qinglian's book online captures workings as a system. gaodawei.wordpress.com/2015/…

These are some worrisome statistics. It’s bad enough that 63% of GOP still believe this lie, but 9% of Dems? 21% of Independents? This is why Trump’s lies are so dangerous. If a lie is constantly repeated with no pushback, people will begin to accept it as truth.
It’s 2026 and 63% of Republicans still believe 2020 election was “stolen” from Donald Trump. By comparison, only 9% of Democrats and 21% of independents say Trump lost in 2020 due to election fraud. reuters.com/world/trumps-ele…

Lies that go unchallenged become accepted as truths. Remember Trump even says it these days: “Nobody even questions me about the 2020 election because they all know it was rigged.” He wins.
Ok I hate the “stolen election” stuff from the president BUT why keep asking him? It’s not exactly news that he thinks it’s stolen. The question seems performative, merely to elicit the reaction he delivered

This is an actual page on the White House web site. It reads like something written about a third world dictator. So embarrassing. I have not seen any branch of the federal government sink this low in my lifetime.

frankly, it is good for the rest of the world to see the US debacle. too long has the US self-aggrandized itself as "exceptional"--"leader of the free world"--"spreading democracy" etc. it is instructive for other countries to see how fragile our democracy has been, how apparently empty our collective values, the pretense of white Christian America & virtue, the appalling power of extreme wealth to corrupt so many persons who would have remained otherwise "good"--at least, "not corruptible."
We’re all supposed to pretend this isn’t happening a lot? How does this make us look to the rest of the world?

How could America in the 21st century have a president who doesn’t believe in science? And a phalanx of followers who are either equally stupid or too cowardly to speak out?
.@POTUS: We're taking nearly $200M that was set aside for the Green New Scam, and repurposing that money so that we can restart a coal plant in Maryland, and help build two brand new coal plants in Alaska and West Virginia.

Totally delusional. Clearly he’s lost touch with reality. And a roomful of men who know better just stand there silent. Future historians will use such videos to explain how autocracies gain and retain power.
He belongs in a room with padded walls. 25th Amendment.

I don’t remember Biden blaming all his problems on Trump. Trump’s motto: “The buck stops anywhere but here.”
BOYLE: Do you agree with the American people, or are they just wrong? BESSENT: Look, the American people were torched under the Bide administration-- BOYLE: Oh my goodness. I wish I had a dollar for every time you bring up Biden's name. If I did I might have as much money as you have. Consumer sentiment is at an all time low
