frankly, it is good for the rest of the world to see the US debacle.
too long has the US self-aggrandized itself as "exceptional"--"leader of the free world"--"spreading democracy" etc. it is instructive for other countries to see how fragile our democracy has been, how apparently empty our collective values, the pretense of white Christian America & virtue, the appalling power of extreme wealth to corrupt so many persons who would have remained otherwise "good"--at least, "not corruptible."
We’re all supposed to pretend this isn’t happening a lot?
How does this make us look to the rest of the world?
