Shaquille O’Neal shares the mindset he uses to deal with criticism “I call it the five hands of stress” “I only care about my mother, my children, my organization and my money. It don’t get past five” “If none of these people got anything bad to say about you, why do you care what ‘they’ say? You can’t even identify who ‘they’ are” “If you try to identify every individual person inside the ‘they’ corporation, you’re gonna be working all day and you’re gonna be stressed out and it’s gonna mess up your mentals” “So if you turn it off, you won’t have a problem”

Watched the game with @pweiser @EmilyForCO @Bretontheradio at @Esters_Denver — half the conversation was Colorado politics, half was me trying to explain why it’s difficult for a Philly kid to accept a New York victory (even tho I gotta admit the Knicks are a likeable team!)

This documentary is the single most inspiring thing I’ve seen in years. @DemocracyNow gets no media industry buzz, but considering the odds & money stacked against it & its enormous reach, it is the greatest media success story of this era — and it’s not particularly close.

I don’t understand how a human mind can at once know it is only alive and conscious for an incredibly short fleeting amount of time before it dies, and then also decide to spend large amounts of that finite time looking at a glowing screen that mostly makes it feel bad.

They have built an impressive outlet. As the founder of a much smaller outlet, I can attest that it is not easy. Congrats on the success.

One of the most satisfying moments in WITNESS (1985) is watching a local punk mistake John Book for an ordinary Amish man. Harrison Ford lets the misunderstanding breathe just long enough before correcting it the hard way.

What are the best “you don’t know who you’re messing with” scenes in movie history?

BREAKING: ICE agents attempted to raid legal offices representing unaccompanied migrant children, lawyers tell The Lever. The visits came after the Trump admin froze payments to legal providers and demanded sensitive client data on children facing deportation.

🚨INVESTIGATION: The White House/UFC event is happening just as a conglomerate Trump invested in is advancing federal legislation sculpted to let it take over boxing. “If there’s only one organization, you can pay the fighters $5 & they’ll be happy to fight,” Trump once said.

So this is the real story: - Trump bought shares in the company that owns UFC. - He bought them right after Congress advanced a bill that could benefit that company’s boxing ambitions. - He also bought shares in the company broadcasting the event. - And now he’s using the White House to promote the whole spectacle.

And TKO wasn’t the only conveniently timed purchase. That same disclosure shows Trump also bought between $15,001 and $50,000 worth of Paramount stock on the same day. SEE: Paramount has the exclusive rights to broadcast the White House UFC event.

Trump himself once said the quiet part out loud: “If there’s only one organization, you can pay the fighters five dollars, and they’ll be happy to fight.” — Donald Trump, 2008 Which is exactly the kind of monopoly critics fear this bill could help create in boxing.

And why does this matter? Because UFC’s business model has already been accused of suppressing fighter pay. In 2024, the company agreed to pay $375 million to settle a class-action lawsuit after a judge said it had “unfettered power and opportunity” to suppress fighters’ compensation.
