Gov Polis' decision to commute Tina Peters' sentence is unconscionable. She was entrusted to safeguard our elections, and with that trust she instead committed felonies that undermined our democracy. And now the Gov is betraying us all, further undermining our elections. Unreal.
Elected officials from across Colorado largely ripped into Gov. Jared Polis’ Friday decision to dramatically accelerate the release of Tina Peters, accusing him of caving to President Donald Trump. denverpost.com/2026/05/15/ti…

Priority bill on the move! 🤩 The Safety Net Benefits bill is moving forward and now one step closer to giving the state more flexibility and independence to respond to changing federal policies; and updating outdated technology. @EmilyForCO @KyleBrownHD12

Initiative 175 would require the state to spend ~$700M a year on highway projects without providing any new revenue, meaning hundreds of millions of dollars in cuts to Medicaid and education. House Dems just passed a bill in committee to mitigate the harms of this initiative 🧵

“Medicaid costs have been rising far beyond what the state can afford under the TABOR cap, but I’m proud that, unlike H.R. 1, we were able to reduce some Medicaid spending in a way that doesn’t kick anyone off their health insurance.” - Rep. @KyleBrownHD12

TABOR & the GOP Megabill threaten the future of these policies. "It’s disappointing to know we’re in this situation, when these credits that we created did have such a tremendous impact on low-income Coloradans and lowering child poverty." - Rep. @EmilyForCO

Lots of common ground here on an intractable problem looming over our political economy🏡 Restrictive zoning is part of the problem, but liberalizing zoning on its own does not solve the equity financing problem. Further, concentration among home builders and shareholder primacy in equity financing models are artificially constraining supply. Aside from the need to address housing market concentration at the local level, there's general consensus that revolving loan funds are an under-utilized solution. And, as moderator @talmonsmith put it: "Single variable analysis can leave out far too much." Thanks to @EmilyForCO @BalanceCrafting @PEWilliams_ and Dr. Luis Quintero for a spirited discussion!

In a single day in America, we are reeling from another school shooting and another political assassination. While we all hug our loved ones tighter, nobody needs our thoughts and prayers. When will we accept the common denominators here and decide to chart a different future?

Let me fix that for you. Your boss's taxes will go up, along with the rest of the wealthiest 1-2% of Coloradans. For everyone making less than $500,000 per year, our proposal CUTS their taxes. Honesty is harder, but it's better. #copolitics
Tax Hike Alert: The far left is going to try again to raise taxes on the ballot. To do it, they’ll have to repeal a major part of TABOR. This measure will chase even more revenue and jobs out of the state. We’ll have to defeat it! #copolitics #coleg
