The RACP is deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of A/Prof Alasdair MacDonald. Alasdair was a highly respected member of the College who made an enormous contribution in many roles including Board Director and Adult Medicine President.

We have always said that we need the Indigenous to let us know what they want and need for their people. In the Uluṟu Statement they did just that. Feeling gutted tonight that the referendum has shown Australia is not ready or open for a Voice to Parliament yet.

While things are not great atm, in 2020-21, the collective actions of Dan Andrews & his team, along with other key Fed & State leaders, saved 10's of thousands of lives & averted many x more severe acute & chronic illnesses. These savings were sustained (a story for another day).
