The kleptocracy never ends. Trump used the White House as a backdrop for a cage match. At the same time, the Trump family is selling $12,000 coins to profit off the event. They’re not draining the swamp. They are the swamp.

Your daily reminder that Medicare for All would save $650 billion and 68,000 lives each and every year, per CBO and the Yale School of Public Health.
Healthcare costs are projected to rise 9% in 2027, the most in nearly two decades.

Thanks to Melany at Doubting Thomas Farms, who shared her story with me. Our farmers are getting squeezed from every side. In the Senate, I’m going to stand up to Trump and corporate special interests to deliver bold change, like the right to repair for MN's farmers.

If you exclude those that are neutral/have no opinion/don’t recognize the names of the candidates (for an apples to apples comparison)… Flanagan has a higher net favorability than Craig among: 🟡 Hennepin/Ramsey County (core Twin Cities metro) residents 🟡 Age 50 🟡 Independents 🟡 College Grads 🟡 Northern Minnesota residents 🟡 DFL/lean DFL voters — Craig has a higher net favorability than Flanagan among: 🟣 Southern Minnesota residents 🟣 GOP/lean GOP voters
They didn’t ask head-to-head matchups for Senate for some reason, but a generic DFL candidate leads a generic Republican candidate 49-41. Flanagan’s favorability is 33-29. Craig’s is 28-27. Despite the Craig campaign claiming she’s more electable (even though no Democrat is losing that seat in this environment barring a major scandal), Flanagan’s actually more popular than Craig among independents.

A year later, I still find myself thinking about my friend Melissa Hortman. There's a photo of Melissa hanging in my office. Every day, I walk past it and am reminded of her friendship, her leadership, and the deep love she had for Minnesota and the people she served. I think about her laugh. I think about her determination. I think about the countless times she brought people together to solve a problem that others thought couldn't be solved. Melissa believed in people. She believed in public service. She believed that government should work for everyday folks and that we all have a responsibility to make our communities stronger. Today, we remember Melissa and Mark Hortman and continue to hold Senator John Hoffman, Yvette Hoffman, and Hope Hoffman in our hearts. At Melissa's memorial, I said that she would expect us to carry on bravely. I believe that as much today as I did then. The best tribute we can offer is to continue the work she devoted her life to: serving others, treating people with dignity, and building a Minnesota where everyone can thrive. I miss her every day.

We started the day with mass at The Basilica of St. Mary to remember our friend Melissa Hortman. I was grateful to be in the space where we said goodbye to her a year ago. We’ve been through so much since she walked on and I think of her often. I was at a doorknock yesterday—one of the places Melissa felt most comfortable. It reminded me of her mantra: stop taking selfies and go knock some f*cking doors. I’m taking time to grieve today. And tomorrow, I’m going to get back to it because she’d want us to remember our role as God’s instruments and organizers for the common good. 🫶🏼

My aunt is 69 and still working. Not because she wants to. Because her Social Security check is $1,100 a month. Her rent is $1,400. She worked 40 years and paid in every single check. $1,100 is what the safety net looks like up close.

Verna and Rick were so kind to show me around Prairie Rose Farms today. Our farmers are facing incredible challenges right now, but there are good people working hard to create new opportunities for emerging and returning farmers. That gives me hope.

Musk is worth more than South Africa’s GDP. @BernieSanders and I proposed a 5% tax on people like him. In one year, it could fund: - free public college & trade school -$10/day childcare - Special-needs education nationwide Wealth inequality is the moral failure of our time.
Those who celebrate @elonmusk's $1 trillion fortune need to be reminded of a simple and vital truth: That there is a fundamental tension between extreme wealth and the very possibility of democracy.
