the funniest part of this is where she says the WHCA "stands for" something
I’m proud to share the WHCD will be held on 07/24. Our first dinner is part of history, as will be the WHCA’s response. We will not allow an act of violence to have the last word, especially during a year when we are reflecting on America 250 and everything we stand for.

imagine telling people you're partying at the Andrew Tate sex trafficking newsletter soiree
We are at the Substack Party by the WH inside the Renwick Gallery. And US Secret Service is asking us to stay inside.

Thank you McDonalds for hiring those facing federal job losses. Every family deserves to earn a living and that’s why we raised our minimum wage in Virginia to $15 an hour.

from what I hear you'll soon be hearing NOTUS' reporting on teevee pretty soon
👀Overheard in our newsroom just now: I'm so over formers continuing to write our "obituary" (air quote) when I can turn on TV, check any news channel and see us and our reporting. Case in point. (points to nearby TV with MS NOW showing last night's drone scoop)

I’m not going to send you to die in another pointless fucking war in the Middle East. Specific enough?

This guy was a Democrat but switched parties after meeting with Trump, who was known to be racist at the time—birther scum at that. This dude happily embraced all of it. Couldn't go Trump cult faster. So, respectfully, Jeff, gargle my balls.
The video in question has been deleted, and I want to be very clear: I condemn racism in any form. These types of videos are morally wrong. Sadly, this kind of behavior happens on both sides of the aisle, and it needs to stop. We should be holding ourselves to a higher standard.

this is a person who laid off an entire newsroom that assiduously covered Trump's misrule
A person who tweets this is manifestly unfit to lead the Dems through the hard work required in this moment. If you can’t recognize what’s happened or what’s going on, you shouldn’t be responsible for deciding anything about where we’re going

so @KimStrassel is a notorious dummy but even I don't know where she dreamt up that I'd urged "Democrats to hang their *entire midterm strategy* on a promise to impeach Trump." Jesus, Kim, don't be so dramatic! 'Tis merely one aspect of a campaign, kiddo. newrepublic.com/post/205118/…

I sometimes forget that Politico pulled you out of a pig trough
Agree or disagree with the merits of the operation, you can't help but be in awe of the US military might described by Gen Caine. Pres Trump threatened Maduro for months -- loudly and publicly. And yet US forces caught him and his cronies entirely OFF GUARD and took a sovereign leader from his own country. Damn.

bari, i have no desire to be involved here, but your synopsis of the events of 2004/2005 is unfair. you weren't simply "advocating for students' rights," you were calling professors racist. i know because i wrote or edited most of the stories about it. campus-watch.org/article/id/… x.com/bariweiss/status/97155…

I want to address a baseless accusation being peddled by @ggreenwald and others on this platform. When I was an undergraduate student at Columbia, I advocated for the rights of students to express their viewpoints in the classroom.

the permission to racially profile is precisely what this agency asked for, and received, in the SCOTUS shadow docket case Noem v. Vasquez Perdomo
ICE has absolutely ZERO record of its officers or agents pulling over Congresswoman Omar’s son. With no evidence, it is shameful that Congresswoman Omar would level accusations to demonize ICE as part of a PR stunt. Allegations that ICE engages in ‘racial profiling’ are disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is if they are illegally in the U.S.—NOT their skin color, race, or ethnicity. Under the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, DHS law enforcement uses “reasonable suspicion” to make arrests.

you must me new around here, the answer to "what would conservatives say" would be "some convoluted hypocritical hogwash" because "getting what you want at all times" is the goal verrry weird no one tipped you to this during onboarding

I loved my time at Heritage Action and was proud to be a co-founder of what was such an important part of the conservative movement. So I say this with respect and sadness: There is nothing conservative about backing threats to a state’s federal funding because it declines to push a President’s own political agenda - that is unconstitutional and coercive to states. What would conservatives say if a Democrat threatened states federal funding to redraw congressional maps?

some good news for Indiana coke dealers
If Indiana Republicans side with these Never Trumpers to do the dirty work of Democrats, I'll be spending a lot of time in Indiana next year campaigning against every single one of them. PS: These RINO consultants sabotaging MAGA need to be rooted out of the GOP!!!

I’m trying to figure out why the President’s inability to stay awake during a press availability isn’t being covered as if it’s a crisis.
