On the seventh day of Passover, we remember one of the most powerful moments in our history the splitting of the sea. It is a day filled with deep emotion, gratitude, and faith.
Tomorrow, people will go to the synagogue and sing the special song that the Jewish people sang after the sea split, thanking God for the great miracle and for the freedom He gave us.
In Israel, many people sometimes even hundreds go to the seashore and sing this song again, standing by the water as if the miracle is happening right now. It is a beautiful and moving way to relive that moment, to feel the gratitude, and to reconnect with the faith and hope that carried our people to freedom.

Delivery is the end of life. And in the after delivery is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.”
The second says, “But certainly we'll meet mother and she'll take care of us. She loves us. She made us.”
The first says, “You actually believe in mother? If mother exists, where is she now?”
“She's all around us. We are of her. It is in her that we live. Without her, this world would not and could not exist.”

Ich habe heute zum ersten mal im Leben eine förmliche Programmbeschwerde beim @ZDF Fernsehrat eingereicht. Die Kindernachrichtensendung Logo hatte in einer mehrere Programmrichtlinien verletzenden Form einen einseitigen Hetzbericht über die Geschichte der christlichen Kirchen gebracht. Der Screenshot vermittelt einen repräsentativen Eindruck des Berichts. Und das auch noch, nachdem es unmittelbar zuvor einen sachlich-positiven Bericht über den islamischen Ramadan gab. There is something miraculous happening and absolutely no one is talking about it.
Soon, the Jewish people will celebrate the holiday of Passover. Millions of Jews around the world will hold their famous Passover Seder.
During the Seder, we have a blessing that we say every year that, quite frankly, confuses me, or at least it used to until my dad explained it to me.
The blessing is called Vehi Sheamda and in it we thank God that in every generation our enemies attack us and God saves us.
But if you examine the actual words of the blessing, you’ll notice something strange.
The blessing goes “And this is what is what stood for our forefathers and us, that our enemies don’t attack us alone, but rather they are many and God saves us from their hands.”
Why is the fact that our enemies don’t attack us alone a good thing? Why are we thanking God that we have many enemies?
So my dad explains every year that we are not thanking God that we have many enemies. What we are celebrating and expressing gratitude for is that in every generation, instead of joining forces, our enemies always fight each other, which weakens them and gives us the upper hand.”l
I had never experienced this. Of course I learned how our enemies throughout history fought each other but I never saw it first hand.
Until now!
The first time we saw this throughout the events of the past three years is on October 7 itself.
What we know now is that Hamas was supposed to be joined by Hezbollah in the north, making it a two front attack, which would’ve been infinitely harder to block.
However, they had an internal struggle, and according to many sources, Hezbollah got angry at Hamas that they did not give them a heads up about the attack. Therefore, Hezbollah decided to sit it out.
Incredible.
However, what’s happened over the past month is nothing short of miraculous.
Can you imagine if Iran, in its war against Israel, was joined by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Kuwait, Syria, Iraq, and many other Muslim countries?
Can you imagine that instead of Israel being attacked by Hezbollah and the IRGC at the same time, the entire Muslim world would attack Israel simultaneously? I don’t even wanna think of such a scenario.
So why did that not happen?
Well, it’s because we are now witnessing that exact miracle.
The IRGC decided that instead of bringing the entire Muslim world to join their cause to destroy Israel, they thought it was a good idea to throw a tantrum and attack basically the entire Muslim world.
So instead of all those countries joining the IRGC, which would have been the natural thing to do, what ended up happening is that those countries have only grown closer to Israel.
You couldn’t make this up if you wanted to.
The IRGC has targeted infrastructure in:
• United Arab Emirates (UAE): This has been one of the most heavily targeted nations. The IRGC has launched over 1,600 drones and hundreds of missiles at targets including Al Dhafra Air Base (housing U.S. forces), Al Minhad Air Base, and energy infrastructure like the Al Hosn gas field. Strikes have caused civilian casualties in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
• Saudi Arabia: The IRGC has targeted major oil and petrochemical complexes, including the Jubail complex, the SAMREF refinery, and the Shaybah oil field.
• Qatar: Strikes have hit the Ras Laffan refinery and the Mesaieed petrochemical complex.
• Bahrain: Attacks have targeted the U.S. Fifth Fleet facilities and Bahrain’s national oil refinery and desalination plants.
• Kuwait: The IRGC has struck refineries at Mina Al Ahmadi and Abdullah Port, as well as areas near U.S. military installations.
• Oman: While less frequent than strikes on the UAE, Oman has also been included in reports of regional missile impacts.
• Iraq: The IRGC and affiliated militias have targeted Baghdad International Airport, U.S. bases in Erbil, and Kurdish forces in northern Iraq.
• Jordan: Jordanian airspace has seen multiple interceptions of Iranian missiles, and the country was included in a joint condemnation by 12 Arab and Islamic nations following strikes on its territory.
• Turkey: NATO air defense systems recently intercepted an Iranian missile in the eastern Mediterranean that was reportedly bound for Turkish territory.
• Azerbaijan: Tensions have spiked following the exposure of Iranian-directed terror plots in Baku, leading to the arrest of several individuals.
Summary of Casualties and Damage
If you had told me two months ago that Israel and the US would be fighting the IRGC with almost the entire Muslim world on our side, I would have thought you clearly hit your head.
Zero chance I would have believed you. And here we are.
“And this (Hashem’s blessings and the Torah) is what kept our fathers and what keeps us surviving. For, not only one arose and tried to destroy us, rather in every generation they try to destroy us, and Hashem saves us from their hands.”
We are seeing this miracle happen right before our eyes. Instead of attacking us all together, the Muslim world is not only totally fragmented, most of the Muslim world is actually on Israel’s side as it fights the evil Iranian regime.

In the last 30 minutes, you want to take a guess how many rockets and missiles were fired at Israel by the IRGC in Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon?
Go ahead, take a guess.
And then after you take that guess, guess how many Israelis were killed or even injured.
I’ll save you the worry and the suspense. Zero Israelis were harmed.
Now you ready to hear how many they fired at Israel in the last 30 minutes?
Did you guess?
What’d you guess? 5? 10? 15?
Have a number?
Over 150! You read that right. That’s not an extra zero.
150 rockets and ballistic missiles were fired into Israeli cities in the last 30 minutes alone.
I’ll remind you, Israel, the entire Israel is the size of New Jersey.
Imagine 150 deadly rockets and missiles, each with the potential to kill tens or even hundreds, were fired into New Jersey. Now imagine those 150 rockets and missiles resulting in ZERO deaths or injuries.
I think we’d all agree that such a scenario is impossible and if it happens, it is an open miracle.
Here’s the thing though. These past 30 minutes? They’re not that unique. This has been going on for months and years.
Need I remind you what happens when ONE of these projectiles has a direct hit? We saw the result in Beit Shemesh last week.
That was an absolutely horrendous scene.
9 dead and many many injured.
Each and every one of these flying bombs could kill tens of Israelis.
And yet, while every single death is an entire world and a catastrophic tragedy, we have to step back and realize that we are witnessing miracles of biblical proportions.
Every single time they fire ONE rocket or missile and it’s intercepted, detonated, or simply misses its target, each and every one of us should stop whatever it is we’re doing, look up to the heavens, and scream at the top of our lungs, “Thank you Hashem!”
They fall in empty spaces! Empty spaces? In israel? Have you seen how tiny this country is? Where are these empty spaces??
Every single time Israel takes out a terrorist, whether it’s a big leader of the IRGC, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, or Hamas, or a no name terrorist, we should all stop and think what went into that operation.
We should think about every soldier who took part in that operation. We should think about all the moving parts and how if only one of them would have gone wrong, what could have happened.
How on earth did we manage to take out Sinwar? Do you know how top secret his location was? Haniyeh? On Iranian soil? Nasrallah? Do you know how much security he had? Do you understand how much intel was needed?!
Khamanei?! Are you kidding me?!! How????
Yes, we’ve experienced tragedy. We’ve experienced loss and devastation. Nothing I can or will say will change or sugarcoat that.
And at the same time, we are literally witnessing the splitting of the sea every single day, every hour, every minute and it’s happening right before our eyes.
I don’t know about you but I refuse to take any of this for granted.
God, with the help of the IDF and the Israeli Air Force, is performing historic and biblical miracles for us every day.
Please don’t ignore the miracles. Please acknowledge them. Please thank Hashem. Please ask Him to continue protecting us. Please ask Him to help destroy our enemies once and for all.
I’m sure we are going to experience more difficult moments. They sure are trying.
Many of the Jews in Egypt failed to see the miracles and decided to not leave when God told them to.
Many of the Jews in the desert failed to see the miracles, even when God split the sea, many said it was just the wind.
The war of independence? Six day war? Yom Kippur war?
Now we look back and realize how miraculous our victories were. Do you think Israelis recognized that as they were happening?
We have a tendency not to see the miracles unfolding right before our eyes.
Watya say we don’t repeat that mistake and we open our eyes to the incredible things happening all around us?
Miraculous times. Biblical times. Messianic times.
Let’s just pray the miracles continue. Amen.

Wie kam die Wismut zu ihren Ferienheimen an der Ostsee?
Als ich eben über die Wismut recherchierte und darauf stieß, dass Zinnowitz das Urlaubsdomizil der Wismutkumpel war, also die Wismut über nahezu alle Hotels und Pensionen der Stadt verfügte, las ich, dass die gesamten privaten Hotels und Pensionen an der Ostsee 1953 in einer einzigen Aktion verstaatlicht wurden. Da fiel mir wieder ein, dass als Antwort auf meinen Tweet über die Unbeliebtheit des sächsischen Dialekts @jasmunder die Aktion "Rose" von 1953 ins Spiel brachte, als 400 Polizeischüler der VP-Schule Arnsdorf, Sachsen, an der Ostseeküste einfielen und die gesamte private Ferienindustrie schikanierten. Und das wahrscheinlich mit breitem sächsischen Dialekt.
Die Aktion "Rose" war ja ein unglaubliches staatliches Gaunerstück. Die mehr als 400 Polizeischüler, nicht hat mal richtige Polizisten, durchsuchten innerhalb von 4 Wochen im Februar 1953 über 700 Hotels, Pensionen und Gaststätten. Dabei wurden Straftaten konstruiert, um die Besitzer enteignen zu können. Das waren wilde und willkürliche Vorwürfe: Verstöße gegen das Volkseigentumsschutzgesetz (VESchG von 1952), „Wirtschaftsverbrechen“, Schwarzhandel, „Spekulation“, Westkontakte, „Agententätigkeit“. Als Beweise dienten West-Zigaretten, Bohnenkaffee, nicht abgeführte Pfennigbeträge, höhere Preise als staatlich erlaubt. Über 400 Personen wurden verhaftet und von Sondergerichten in Schnellverfahren von 1 bis 10 Jahren Zuchthaus verurteilt. Die Objekte wurden dem FDGB und der Wismut übereignet. Flankiert wurde die Aktion durch die staatshörigen Medien, Zeitungen (Neues Deutschland, Ostseezeitung) und Rundfunk hetzten massiv gegen die „Ratten“, „Gauner“, „Spekulanten“.
Die Aktion erhöhte die Wut und Unzufriedenheit der Bevölkerung. Zumal die meisten Einrichtungen erst mal leer standen oder schlecht geführt wurden. Nach dem Volksaufstand vom 17. Juni 1953 ließ man die meisten Verurteilten frei, sie wurden aber weder rehabilitiert noch entschädigt, von einer Rückgabe des illegal geraubten Eigentums nicht zu reden. Die meisten verließen die DDR.
Mit dieser Aktion wurde der Ostseetourismus über den FDGB zentral gelenkt. Weg vom Privateigentum, hin zu volkseigenem Urlaubswesen. So richtig gut war das aber nicht. Später blühte das private Übernachtungsgewerbe wieder auf, allerdings in Privatzimmern, manchmal abenteuerliche Bleiben, wie ausgebaute Schuppen oder Garagen oder in kleinen Pensionen, die man 1953 nicht enteignet hatte. Viele Betrieb errichteten Bungalows oder andere Ferienobjekte für ihre Mitarbeiter an der Ostsee, vor allem das Campingplatzgewerbe blühte auf. Für letztere brauchte man aber einen Zeltschein, die zentral vergeben wurden. Spontan ging gar nichts! Verrückte Zeiten, eben sozialistische Planwirtschaft!
Nach der Wende wurde geraubtes Eigentum der Aktion Rose zurückübertragen, aber nur, wenn die Eigentümer zurück kamen und die vergammelten Häuser wieder aufbauten.

Warum ist Sächsisch eigentlich so unbeliebt?
Wenn man Umfragen über die Beliebtheit deutscher Mundarten liest, ist Sächsisch regelmäßig der unbeliebteste deutsche Dialekt. Wie kommt es dazu, dass diese melodische Mundart, die sich Martin Luther schon vor fünfhundert Jahren als Vorbild für seine Bibelübersetzung und damit die schriftliche deutsche Sprache wählte, heute so ein schlechtes Image hat? Ich weiß es nicht. Vielleicht hat das was mit der Beliebtheit der Sachsen zu tun? Was für ein Image haben Sachsen? Ich werde mal ein paar Gedanken formulieren, ohne irgendeinen Anspruch auf eine vollständige Erklärung.
Fangen wir mit der Geschichte an. Das heutige Sachsen hat nichts mit dem Sachsen der Römerzeit und den Angelsachsen zu tun. Die Besiedlung von Sachsen vor etwa 900 Jahren, das damals von Westslawen wie Sorben dünn besiedelt war, durch Franken, Flamen, Thüringer und Niedersachsen erfolgte größtenteils friedlich. Slawische und deutsche Ortschaften existierten nebeneinander, irgendwann überwog die deutsche Bevölkerung, es kam zu einer Assimilation der slawischen Urbevölkerung. Während 1100 nur ca. 30.000 überwiegend Sorben im Gebiet des heutigen Sachsens lebten, waren es 200 Jahre später 300.000 hauptsächlich deutschsprachige Bewohner, eine neue Bevölkerungsgruppe hatte sich gebildet.
Mit den Silberfunden im Erzgebirge wuchs in kurzer Zeit der Reichtum Sachsens und seine politische Bedeutung, die Kurfürsten zeigten ihren Reichtum in Dresden ungeniert. Dresden entwickelte sich zum „Elbflorenz“, Kunst und Kultur blühten auf. Kriegerisch waren die Sachsen nicht, sie vermasselten mehrere Kriege, verloren viel Territorien an die nördlichen Preußen. Wenn sie mal expandierten, dann mit viel Geld, wie mit dem Kauf der polnisch-litauischen Königskrone. 63 Jahre besaßen die beiden Augusts diesen Titel, August der Starke gab 39 Millionen Reichstaler aus der sächsischen Reichskasse für dieses Prestigeprojekt aus, eine damals unvorstellbar hohe Summe, die in die Taschen der polnischen Würdenträger floß.
Schon rund hundert Jahre vorher im Dreißigjährigen Krieg unterstützte das (protestantischen) Sachsen den (katholischen) Kaiser, hatte dadurch massive Kosten und wurde für diese durch die Pfändung der Lausitz entschädigt. Es war nie vorgesehen den Pfänder auszulösen und diese Gegend kam zu Sachsen.
Beliebt wurden die Sachsen durch solche Aktionen nicht. Wie wir aus der populären Serie des DDR-Fernsehens „Sachsens Glanz und Preußens Gloria“ wissen, hasste der Alte Fritz den Dicken August richtig, fiel sooft er konnte in Sachsen ein und machte sich hier nicht beliebt. Sachsen und Preußen waren wirklich die absoluten Antipoden, zwischen beiden Völkerschaften wurde oft ein ziemlicher Hass ausgelebt. Nur triumphierten die Preußen sehr lange über die Sachsen, erst 1945 war Schluss damit, als dann letztlich ein sächselnder Leipziger mit Spitzbart Chef der DDR wurde, auch nicht gerade reputationsfördernd für die Sachsen.
Nun ein kultureller Aspekt: Mir fiel auf, dass in nahezu allen westdeutschen Filmen, wenn man mal einen dummen Ostdeutschen brauchte, meist in der Rolle eines Polizisten oder Grenzsoldaten, der immer breites Leipziger Sächsisch sprechen musste. Sächsisch also als Merkmal eines beschränkten Ostdeutschen.
Und dann der aktuelle politische Zustand. Ich will hier nicht ins Detail gehen, aber wie auf die gesamtdeutsche Bevölkerung solche Aktionen wie das Titelbild des Spiegel mit dem braun eingefärbten Sachsen wirkt, kann man sich denken. Gruppenbezogene Sachsenfeindlichkeit ist beliebt, alle mögliche Comedians machen voller Freude ihre Witze über Sachsen. „Bomber Harris do it again“. Damit sind natürlich die Gräben noch weiter vertieft worden.
Wie auch immer, die schöne sächsische Sprache ist in ihrer Reputation ziemlich lädiert, eigentlich schade drum.
Das Bild zeigt, freundlich formuliert, die größte Ausdehnung der sächsischen Macht, das Kurfürstentum Sachsen und das Königreich Polen-Litauen unter den beiden Sachsenkönigen August Vater und Sohn im 18. Jahrhundert, aufgenommen in der Albrechtsburg von Meißen.
