Surviving critical illness is only the beginning for those who are treated in intensive care, so we need a rapid expansion of the provision of patient rehabilitation services to help patients return to life before critical illness. Read our manifesto at bit.ly/ElectionPriorities

Replying to @QAHospTherapies
@QAHospTherapies please be aware! Particularly as it is renewal time for some of our staff. If you’re not sure about a phone call you’ve had, let someone know! The HCPC do not use automated calls to contact registrants.
28 Feb 2024
We are aware that some registrants have received automated calls regarding supposed HCPC investigations, and been asked to contact a specified number. We can confirm that this is vishing scam and that we don't contact registrants in this way! 👉 hcpc-uk.org/registration/you…

'Rehabilitation is just as important as medicine and surgery in helping people reclaim their lives after injury, illness or because of long-term conditions. Everyone deserves access to rehabilitation' Thank you @stephenfry for supporting the campaign #RightToRehab #RehabLegends

This is literally why #NHSfunding for rehabilitation after any sort of critical illness cannot be an after thought. Organ support, drugs & acute care saves lives - access to rehab saves people. Thanks for sharing your journey #rehablegend Source: TikTok @ tinabridge

Safe staffing for physios in ICU: Should there be a minimum level of ‘skilled’ PTs on shift to ensure pt safety? What does 1:4 actually mean? Just because you’re a PT does it mean you’re a good educator? So many questions! Great to see this out 🙌 acprc.org.uk/publications/ac…

🤔 We’re interested to know how other trusts are using their B4 SLTa’s for dysphagia practice. Do they upgrade diets or provide swallow screens? We’d love to find out more! @RCSLT @DysphagiaCEN @BHRUT_SLT @UHS_SLT

Patient experience session led by @hendyl2001. Attended by the MDT. Thank you @SuziHobbs (and mark) for coming in. It’s important to be aware of the patient experience of critical care and rehabilitation @icu_portsmouth #rehablegend

Was a pleasure to be part of this lovely gentleman’s recovery @icu_portsmouth - seeing him walk in was amazing as we had not seen that until then. He showed unrelenting hard work and determination. #rehablegend
Last week, in an emotional reunion, Mark Hobbs came face-to-face with the staff who cared for him following a Guillain-Barre Syndrome diagnosis in 2022. Losing all mobility, the Hydrotherapy Team at Solent and staff at @PHU_NHS worked together to get Mark walking again.
