I thought the same until I realized people are already starting to move on while some of those responsible are still out there. Nobody enjoys seeing those photos or videos. They’re horrible 💔and heartbreaking . But the uncomfortable truth is that public pressure is often what keeps cases like this from being forgotten. If everyone goes quiet now, this risks becoming another cold case before all those responsible are identified and held accountable. The goal isn’t views or likes. The goal is justice. Because if people can do something this horrific and walk free, they can do it to anyone tomorrow.

To the contrary, in a society where mob injustice has become the norm & the public has no empathy when this brutality happens (as seen in the Public discourse following Sydney’s murder), a mobile court will act as a deterrent. Justice will be served and seen to be served.

I once had a sexual relationship with an auditor in my organization. The department I was heading used to send procurement and maintenance approvals to her, and the amounts involved were substantial. Immediately we started sleeping with each other, she stopped vetting my requests and drilling me the way an auditor should. Every single request was met with, "Approved. Best regards." Today we laid my brother @GongodyoSidney to rest at his ancestral home in the land of the Bamasaba, in the soil that raised him, among the brave men of Mount Elgon and I am overwhelmed. To the @piratesrugbyUG family, every teammate who shared a pitch, a dressing room or a bus journey with Sydney, the entire sports fraternity, every athlete who put on their kit and showed up, the friends who drove through the night, every Ugandan who never met Sydney but felt the weight of his loss as if they had and to everyone who made the journey to Masaba land to lay this son of the soil to rest, I THANK YOU. Sydney lived as a unifying force and he died as one. Today we saw it with our own eyes. People of every tribe, every background, every walk of life came together to say goodbye to one man. That is who he was and that is the mark he left. But I need to ask something of every single one of you now that the burial is done. Let us not go back to our lives as if nothing happened because Sydney's family wakes up tomorrow to an empty chair and his children grow up with a gap that can never be filled, yet the goons who did this are still out there!
