You don't think Ligado clarity, SCS filing, or the spectrum leases that went with it qualify as real news? Id allow that it might be priced in by longs, but at the very least it feels like real news to the shorts that's driving them to cover.

🚨 $VZ $T spectrum lease with $ASTS filed 🚨 $ASTS just locked it in FCC accepted the Verizon lease. This is Band 5. Nationwide low-band. Real deal. $T and $VZ both leasing their airwaves to AST. The two 🦾 carriers in the 🇺🇸 just handed over the keys for D2D from space. Verizon’s not “exploring” anything. They’re in. Shorts are still playing checkers. $ASTS: Here's the latest on our FM1 STA 👇 AST has responded to the latest round of comments from FCC and SpaceX. There was a theory that we wouldn't be able to get FM1 approval without the full SCS application going in, and that just went in yesterday so if that was a hurdle then it isn't anymore. So the bottom line is that FM1 should be ready for approval, absent any new comments from the FCC of course. But with @JamannerManner at the helm of the regulatory filings, the response seems crispy clear. Clear skies ahead. While nice to see $asts green in a sea of red, market still not fully digesting the implications of this MSS spectrum acquisition. It’s basically game over in the US and Canadian markets for d2d. Ast is and will be a monopoly until proven otherwise. Yes, AST’s tech is miles ahead of the competition. But this market is also about access to spectrum-with Verizon and AT&T already locked down, ast already had much greater terrestrial spectrum access than Starlink. Now couple that with the large swath of MSS spectrum ast just acquired, Starlink will not be able to compete. Their only hope is somehow getting MSS from echostar but that’s going to be a headache/battle in its own right to try to acquire. And as far as the other legacy providers, their narrowband iot offerings will be greatly inferior to what ast can provide after block 3 blue birds come out. Those companies will be going belly up unless something significantly changes down the road. Unreal that even at 13 billion marketcap, ast has just cornered and created an effective monopoly for d2d in the most profitable telecom market in the world. Eventually the street will put this together/realize this, but it’s definitely not reflected in today’s price action

$ASTS: Ligado estimates the value of its L-Band spectrum at $39B. AST SpaceMobile's BlueBird satellites will unlock this value by enabling direct-to-device usage without causing interference issues feared by the DoD and other gov agencies. ASTS current market cap is $12B 👀
$ASTS: 🚨 AST SPACEMOBILE ENTERS INTO MULTI-PARTY AGREEMENT INMARSAT AND VIASAT TO RECEIVE LONG-TERM ACCESS TO LIGADO'S PREMIUM 45MHZ L-BAND SPECTRUM IN US CANADA SUPPORTED W/ $550M NON-RECOURSE DEBT. The Term Sheet, when approved, provides that as part of Ligado’s ongoing restructuring, Inmarsat will support AST SpaceMobile receiving long-term spectrum usage rights for 80 years to up to 40 MHz of L-Band MSS spectrum in the United States and Canada held by Ligado, plus access to an additional 5 MHz in the 1670-1675 MHz Band in the United States. The Term Sheet supplements the definitive documentation previously entered into between AST SpaceMobile and Ligado in March 2025 and remains subject to Court approval, expected before the end of June. When consummated, the Transaction will add additional capabilities to AST SpaceMobile’s technology and space-based network, based on the largest-ever communications arrays deployed in low Earth orbit, pairing existing plans for the continental United States on low-band spectrum, which offers superior penetration and coverage characteristics, with access to up to 45 MHz of lower mid-band spectrum, the largest available block of high-quality nationwide spectrum in the United States. Tim- 1 “AST needs a waiver of the Geographic Information Authorization (GIA) rule clear evidence they lack nationwide spectrum.” The new SCS rules explicitly anticipate waivers when a satellite operator aggregates spectrum from multiple terrestrial partners. The FCC has already granted the same type of waiver to SpaceX/T-Mobile under the very framework Tim is mocking. Waiver ≠ red flag; it’s the path the Commission set up for SCS applicants. 2. “Demanding approval by Aug 1 is ludicrous” The FCC’s SCS Report & Order created an informal 60 day shot clock for straightforward applications; AST filed on June 2 and asked for a decision no later than Aug 1 59 days exactly in line with agency guidance. The same clock was used for SpaceX’s SCS grant. 3. “Verizon won’t give AST the core 850 MHz block; they’re stuck with ‘orphan’ channels.” Verizon’s May 2024 agreement says the parties are working toward 100 % CONUS coverage on Verizon’s premium 850 MHz spectrum i.e., the main CLR “core.” The orphan A/B sub-blocks are just what AST turned on first to prove coexistence. 4. “AT&T only lets them use a single 1.4 MHz channel; that kills video-call ambitions.” 1.4 MHz LTE (Cat-M/Cat-1 bis) supports up to10 Mb/s downlink in late release 3GPP profiles, and AST’s BlueWalker 3 already hit 14 Mb/s on a 5 MHz slice, well above the 0.3-1 Mb/s you need for a decent 480-720p video call. Even if early U.S. service stands up on 1.4 3 MHz carriers, that is still an order of magnitude more bandwidth than SpaceX’s initial 200-kbit/s texting layer with T-Mobile. 5. “Redacting service area maps proves coverage will be tiny.” AST redacted all maps including worldwide ones requested by foreign regulators because each carrier deems its roaming footprints competitive intel. The FCC gets the unredacted maps; the public version is redacted by design, not as an admission of minuscule coverage. 6. “They haven’t figured out propulsion, so 23 more sats will fly without it.” The Orbital Debris Assessment Report shows dual Hall effect thruster modules with xenon propellant on FM-1 and successors exactly the class of electric propulsion Starlink, OneWeb, and others use. Tim likely missed it because AST masked the total propellant mass (competitive info) but not the existence of the thrusters. 7. Five planes of three satellites means Falcon 9 can’t lift four at once another ‘embarrassing’ retreat.” The table Tim screenshotted is only the first slice of Block 2 (15 sats). The very next rows list 192 more Block 2 satellites at 690 km and 28 polar sats. Those 192 are one sat per plane by design to maximize spatial-reuse of low-band cellular spectrum, not because of launch constraints. (AST has publicly stated 3–4 Bluebirds fit on Falcon 9 and up to 8 on New Glenn.) 8. Starlink will have comparable throughput before AST gets its next batch up.” Apples to oranges: Starlink’s direct to device payloads are ~25 kg micro-panels capped at ~2 Mb/s per beam and start with SMS-grade service. AST’s Bluebird bus deploys a 199–223 m² phased array designed for multi-megabit 4G/5G. The FCC filing cites >20 Mb/s per 5 MHz already demonstrated in orbit.
